iLove my iMac!

Will and I gave our Christmas presents to each other this week! Kind of kills the surprise, but when you can save a couple bucks, you go for it.

I have been wanting an iMac for 2 years now and have been patiently waiting until we could afford the one I wanted. Well, last Saturday we went into the Apple store just to look, and Will had the guy bring one out to me! Yay! I have been wanting the 24" iMac (the desktop) but this year it was replaced with a 27" - um, I'll take it! It wasn't on sale, but Will wanted me to have time to play around with it so that's why we got it early. However, we did find out you get $100 off if you're a student or a teacher so keep that in mind!

I am still pretty Mac illiterate, but I am loving what I have learned so far!

I mentioned in my last post about going to Costco Friday morning. That is where we got Will's gift - they were having a great sale on flat panel TV's so he got a new one for the living room....

The living room with our original 40" TV
And our new 55" - it's HUGE! Watching movies on it is so cool!

As much as we like getting presents for ourselves/each other we LOVE giving gifts to those in need. At church this morning we picked out a teenage boy from the Christmas in Mexico tree and a little girl from the Christmas in our Community tree. We had a blast filling up our boy's shoebox and picking out the items from our little girl's wish list - I hope she likes her pink clothes and fuzzy boots! :)

We've also been working on our Christmas decor...it's not yet ready to debut because the Christmas tree we got this year is much bigger than last years and it is looking a little sparse, and Rowdy's stocking hasn't arrived yet so the mantle is short one family member. We did however hang up our family Christmas portrait and a wreath I made out of ornaments and satin ribbon, I think it turned out pretty cute!

Can I start the countdown? 26 days until Christmas!

So Much Going On!

I cannot believe this is the last day of my vacation....at least I only have 15 school days until another one :)

The past few days have been BUSY! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch with my family and dinner with Will's family - no pictures though, I was distracted by all the food!

Friday we got up early and hit two Black Friday sales, PetsMart and Costco. Everything holiday was half off at PetsMart so we loaded up on Christmas goodies for the dogs!

After that it was off to the Christmas tree farm in Lindale, TX. This is a BIG Lofland family tradition that I love doing! We ended up cutting down a 10 ft tree! It looks great, but I think I need to get some more ornaments :) We spent Friday evening decorating it and watching Christmas Vacation.

Poor Dasher died and we had to be towed back to the lot...

Saturday we headed to Arlington to watch the Baylor v. Tech game at Dallas Cowboy Stadium. We had a lot of fun tailgating with friends before the game, and even though we lost it was a really good game!

Birthdays Galore!

Yesterday was my daddy-o's birthday! We celebrated on Sunday with a big birthday lunch at P. F. Changs. Happy Birthday Dad!

Sunday was also Miss Toula's 3rd birthday! I cannot believe she is 3 already! We also decided to celebrate Rowdy's birthday too since we don't know when his birthday is, and it's not like we would only get Toula treats! So Happy 3rd Birthday to Toula and Happy 4th Birthday (we think!) to Rowdy!

We went to Three Dog Barkery in Southlake and got them lots of birthday treats - cookie bones with their names on them, birthday cupcakes, and peanut butter bars because they both LOVE peanut butter! Don't worry - we didn't give it to them all at once, we still have some peanut butter bar in our fridge. And we had to share with my parents' four dogs of course.

All natural, dog friendly ingredients and they look cute too!

Taking a family picture with treats is pointless, ha!

Thursday is my aunt's birthday too so Happy Early Birthday Aunt DeeDee!

--------------------

Today my mom came over and we Christma-fied the house! It's not finished yet, but it is very cheery and I even DIYed a cute Christmas wreath! Christmas with the Rat Pack is my new favorite Christmas cd - it definitely gets you in the mood to hang garland!

Friday Saturday Night Lights!

Saturday night I witnessed the most amazing football game ever!

Being from Texas, high school football is taken as seriously as pro football is. Maybe more so. Saturday night my family and some friends went to one of my old high school's playoff games at the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium. I wanted to see the new stadium -which was ridiculous- but more importantly I wanted to see my Dragons beat the pants off the Allen Eagles. They did not disappoint! We beat them in DOUBLE overtime by ONE point! It took me back to my senior year when we lost our state championship by ONE point, that was a dark day. Luckily, this win made up for it in a big way!

Welcome to Jerry World!

Will and I getting pumped up for the big game!

Katrina and her boyfriend Aaron - Katrina and I are Dragon alums, we met Freshman year in French class - I love this girl!

Here come the Dragons!

I'm not sure how or when it started, but during playoffs all the boys bleach their hair. It's tradition.

Half-time performance! Katrina and I were Emerald Belles together - the Drill Team. I miss performing at half-time shows, they were so fun!

Let me paint you a picture of the anticipation that occurred during the last hour or so of the evening:
A few seconds left on the clock and we have to punt the ball. The kicker gets blitzed, ball goes in the air, kicker retrieves it and punts the ball quickly. It doesn't go far but everyone assumes that's the end. 21-14, we win. But wait...one of our guys picks up the ball thinking it's dead. It's not! The ref puts ONE SECOND back on the clock. In that ONE SECOND, the other team runs one play and scores a touchdown to tie the game! That seriously happened!
Overtime - Each team gets a chance to score from the 20 yard line. Eagles go first, Eagles SCORE. Dragons go second, Dragons SCORE.
DOUBLE overtime- Dragons go first, Dragons SCORE. Kick a field goal for one extra point. Eagles go second, Eagles SCORE.
Well, the Eagles coach must be getting either tired or cocky because he decides to go for a two-point conversion instead of a field goal to win the game. His plan is foiled! The play falls apart, the quarterback runs from one side of the end zone to the other with about 5 Dragons chasing him and is tackled two yards from the end zone - DRAGONS WIN 35-34!!!!

Maybe you had to be there, but it was intense!

The exact moment we destroyed them! Gotta love that HD screen, right in the action!

God Bless Football :)

Xmas Card Rejects Extras

SO many great things happened this weekend, and if I hadn't left my camera at my parents' house I'd be sharing about it all right now! So instead I will share what I do have....

Saturday we met our photographer and picked up our Christmas cards and cd of images. He took a lot of great pictures, and I thought I'd share some of the ones that did not make the Christmas card cut but are great nonetheless!

Lots of posts coming this week -- I plan to soak up every minute of my vacation!
