Spring Break! {Part 2}

Finishing up our week of fun! You can read about the first half of our break HERE.

On Thursday, it was Liesl's turn for a special day with her Mom-Mom. They also went to the aquarium and then back home for some serious playdoh play. Liam and I had fun shopping for and assembling his birthday party favors, and doing ALL THE PUZZLES. I think we did 7 in all, but he would have done 20 if we had that many!

She picked out her outfit herself and was quite proud!

On Friday Will was off so we started the day with something new -- breakfast at Waffle House! I hadn't been there since I was a kid, but oh my gosh, their waffles are good, haha. The kids devoured their breakfast!

Then we headed to Nebraska Furniture Mart to get Will some new office furniture. We got sidetracked though because hey had SO much cute baby stuff. At one point Will and I were looking at cribs, and turned around to this. Alice In Wonderland was on, and the kids made themselves right at home on their pet lion to watch it.

We did find a desk and chair though! Our car was a little crammed on the way back which the kids thought was hilarious.

Ta-Da! We got it assembled while the kids were napping, and when Liam came downstairs he literally gasped and said, "I have got to try it out!" Corporate America, look out for this kid in 16 years! :)

On Saturday I went to Flea Style (formerly the Dallas Flea) with a couple friends. I scored some matching shirts for the kids for Disney and some coffee for Will. I could have bought 100 things for myself, but only came home with goodies for them. Isn't that how it always ends up??

Saturday night Will grilled out for us and we all hung out outside until dark. This past weekend was gorgeous and made up for all the rain, so we spent as much of it outdoors as possible taking walks and bouncing in the bounce house!

My Sunday morning cuties!

After church, we met friends for lunch at a new (to us) restaurant. It was perfect outside, although sunny, so the kids made themselves at home under the table, ha!

These kids always have the best time together!

On Monday, we celebrated our last day of spring break by jumping up and down and going to dance class!

Monday was also Pi Day so I had to snag a picture of Liesl Pie and all her sass!

And we celebrated Pi Day by baking...cookies :)

And that was our spring break 2016!

Spring Break! {Part 1}

It's back to real life now, but we made the most of our spring break last week! Even though it rained nearly every single day, we did not let that squash our fun. I'm breaking this up into two posts for the sake of everyone's eyes....I took just a few pictures :)

Technically, our break started after school on Thursday. We kicked it off with new haircuts. Liam got his hair cut and then settled in for a movie while it was Liesl's turn.

This is her, "Wait, this isn't just a trim?" face. This was her second cut ever, but her first "real" haircut where they didn't just even it up. I got her hair cut into a bob, and it's so darling!

"I think I like it!"

She even stacked the back. I'm dying over it!

On Friday Liam went to a birthday party while Will, Liesl, and I went to check on the baby! It was just a normal appointment so we were in and out pretty quick, but we did get to hear the heartbeat!

Liesl wanted her picture with the present too, even though she wasn't going :)

I went to the second half of the party after my appointment and was shocked when Liam actually ate half a piece of pizza. It's taken him nearly 5 years to FINALLY eat pizza! He decided that "it actually isn't that bad" but that he only likes cheese. Works for me, kid! I'm looking forward to some actual Friday night pizza nights at our house now!

By Friday afternoon I was southbound 35 with a couple girlfriends for a Beth Moore conference in Waco. It was SO good! It was my first time hearing her live, and she was such an encouragement. Then music was also really, really good! We had a fun little girls weekend with Beth...and 7,000 other women!

There was also quite a bit of eating...

and shopping!

Do you see that teeny tiny woman next to me at the checkout? That's Joanna's mom! She was wrapping up some of my purchases while I paid, and then we chatted about where I was from, etc. She was SO incredibly sweet and so appreciative that we were there! As if I needed a reason to love their family any more than I already do!

On Monday, the kids and I headed to spend the day with my parents. My dad had to work most of it, but my mom treated us to lunch at Mellow Mushroom. The kids were pretty excited about eating in a bus! The day started out rainy and that pretty much didn't end until Friday.

On Tuesday, Liam had his special day with my MIL, his "Mom-Mom." She's a teacher so during breaks and in the summer, she takes each of them one day a week for a special day out.

She took Liam to the aquarium while Liesl and I had a girls day!

We painted nails, did some decorating, and there was of course some dress up!

One of my Magnolia Market finds!

When brother got home, it was time to get muddy. They had such a blast that I had to completely strip them down before they could come inside.

On Wednesday we met our best beds at the movies to see Zootopia!

The snacks were definitely a hit. I think I refilled Liesl's popcorn cup about 8 times. The movie was really cute I thought, but poor Liam got so scared of the "savage" animals that at one point I had to put Liesl down and scoop him up in my lap because he was crying and saying he wanted to leave. For about three days after that, he would randomly bring it up and tell me he never wants to see that movie again. Needless to say, we won't be adding it to our collection. So if you have sensitive little ones, just be prepared for that!

Part 2, coming tomorrow!

Our One Year House-iversary!

That's a thing, I've decided!

At the end of February, we hit the one year mark of living in our new house! Between Will's work travels and me working part-time, this past year has FLOWN by and we haven't completed as much as we thought we would have by now, but I'm excited to keep going and finish out some of the last rooms -- hello, new nursery!

In honor of this house-iversary, I thought I'd do a little before and after of most of the rooms. Some rooms/areas I've shown before and others I haven't. We still have quite the project list and little things to do here and there in nearly every room, but we have enjoyed the past 12 months of turning our "house" into our "home"!

Living Room Before & After

I just noticed that our coffee table is missing in these pictures! When I took them, we hadn't moved the table back in from when we removed it at Christmas, but it's back now :)

Master Bedroom In Progress

I don't have a before of our bedroom before, but the only thing we've done in here is paint it navy blue. We are planning to get new nightstands, dresser, and mirror in here at some point! You will also not see much done in the way of window treatments anywhere in the house; we are planning to get plantation shutters on the whole house eventually so we are just living with the blinds that we had installed when we moved in for now! I'd also love to frame out some of the big windows - in the living room, kitchen, and master bedroom - with some thick molding. Again...someday!

Dining Room Before & After

Playroom Before & After

The playroom still needs a lot of decor on the walls, but we might be moving a piano in here soon, so I haven't done much. And I'm indecisive so we keep rearranging it. Ignore the empty frame -- someday I'll get a newborn of Liesl in there! Also, since the house is an open floor plan, all the main rooms kind of flow together including going from the downstairs to the upstairs, so I'm having trouble figuring out how to paint/what to paint the walls so that it's all cohesive!

Liam's Bedroom Before & After

Liesl's Bedroom Before & After

Liesl's closet is super hard to photograph, but I had to include a little of bit of it because it's one of my favorite spaces, ha!

Mud "Area"

Since we don't have an official "mudroom" I created this little space with the help of Hobby Lobby before school started last fall. I LOVE it and we use it constantly!

Laundry Room Before & After

Will's Office In Progress

We just started on this room this weekend! We spent a couple hours going through the last of our moving boxes (so shameful, I know it's been a year!) and he got a new desk and chair. We also have a cowhide rug on it's way for the floor along with a lot of wall decor we've collected over the past year. Think lots of Baylor and Texas memorabilia. And probably a deer head on the wall. :)

Like I said, there's still plenty to do, but that's our home one year in!
