Just For Fun

ABC'sI've done one of these before, but this one is different! Try it!

A- My AIR CONDITIONER is set on: 75 and I STILL get chilly! I am always cold!

B- My BEDROOM theme is: Green???

C- The CAR in the driveway is: I have a Lexus SUV and Will has a BMW. Gifts from our parents. We will drive them until they die!

D- My DESK looks: My craft room desk is white and cute, my living room desk is white and cute haha, Will's office desk is brown and holds my beloved Mac, and the "office nook" desk usually holds laundry. We have a lot of desks.

E- The EXACT time I wake up daily is: Anytime I want because it's summmmmmer! But usually 7:30-8:30, I'm not good at sleeping in anymore...but it's nice to have the option!

F- The FIRST thing I wash in the shower is: My hair

G- My GARAGE is filled with: cars, lawn stuff, paint, dog food, the usual.

H- My HOUSE is: My canvas.

I- If you peeked INSIDE my bedroom you'd see: Bedroom furniture and dog toys! No TV though, not in our boudoir!

J- My favorite JUICE is: Apple

K- The best part of my KITCHEN is: My kitchen table because I love to constantly change it up!

L- The LAST person who visited my home was: In-laws for dinner

M- The last piece of MAIL for me was: Wedding shower invite!

N- My NEIGHBORS think I'm: Nice, I think? We do the small talk and everyone around us is really friendly.

O- If you OPENED my fridge you'd see: Milk, cheese, fruits & veggies - all Costco size!

P- My last house PARTY was: Well if you count having family over for dinner a dinner party then just a few days ago, but if you mean "party" party then it would be our housewarming party last year. We are party
animals.

Q- A QUICK meal I like to fix is: Mac-n-cheese, duh.

R- My favorite ROOM of the house is: Probably the living room or kitchen because that's where I spend the most time.

S- The SHAMPOO brand I use is: Big Sexy! I love it!

T- My largest TELEVISION is: We have a 55" in the living room.

U- UNDER my bed you will find: Toula napping.

V- The last time I VACUUMED was: A few day ago...I have to vacuum every couple of days or there will be MOUNDS of dog hair everywhere. It's gross.

W- Looking out my WINDOW I see: The fence & the window into the neighbor's kitchen. Yeah, it can get awkward.

X- I wish I had X-TRA: Living space. I REALLY wish we would have built an upstairs game room. We weren't sure about the cost when we were building our house, but I think it wouldn't have ended up being a problem...boo. Would have been nice to have a playroom for the future bambinos. It will definitely be on the wish list for our next house.

Y- My YARD is: Pretty and thriving thanks to hubs! I don't do much outdoor stuff, it's hot here!

Z- ZZZZZZZ My bedtime is: usually between 10 and 10:30. Hubs has work and I don't have any need to stay up late by myself. Probably why I get up so early!

Anything about me similar to you??

Cake Balls

When my in-laws came over for dinner the other night, me and my SIL were in charge of dessert. And boy did we deliver. We made three, count it, THREE types of cake balls! And they were all AMAZING if I do say so myself!

It was messy and took all afternoon because we made so many, but it really doesn't take long to make just one batch. If you have never made or had these before you are seriously missing out!

Technically we made two kinds of cake balls, and one kind of cookie balls, but the process is the same so I will break it down for you.

Step 1. Bake your cake per the directions on the box. We chose yellow butter cake and red velvet. For the cookie balls, take half the batch and crush in a bowl. We chose Oreos.

Step 2. Once the cake is baked and cooled, crumble the entire cake into a bowl and mix with one can of frosting. I always make my frosting from scratch, but because this ingredient wasn't the main attraction and we were making so much, I opted for the quicker version. For the Oreo cookie balls, mix one 8 oz. tub of cream cheese. The best way to do this is just get down and dirty and use your hands. Yes it is messy, but hey, you get to lick it off after!

Don't stress if you spill crumbs on the floor. That's what dogs are for!

Step 3. Cool. For as long as possible!

Step 4. Melt chocolate chips until the chocolate is super runny. We chose milk chocolate for the butter cake balls, and white chocolate for the red velvet and Oreo balls. Roll cake/frosting mixture into approx. 1" balls and dunk into the bowl of melted chocolate with a spoon (or your fingers). Swirl it around until it's completely covered and remove. Place coated balls on a pan with wax paper.

Redrum...redrum...!
The Shining, anyone?

Almost done....!

Step 5. Cool again until they are C-O-L-D.

Step 6. Try not the eat them all!
Batter + frosting + melted chocolate = sugar overload...but so worth it!

10 days.

My birthday is in 10 days. And I'm beginning to get threats from my family because I haven't told them anything I want. I honestly can't think of anything!

Any ideas??
Come across anything adorable lately you want to share?

Home Tour- Other Areas

The last stop on Natalie's Home Tour is "other areas" aka anything that hasn't already been covered! I missed the first week so I thought I'd do my entryway along with my "other areas."

Our entryway is reallllly long.

Entry left

Entry right

More entry left

More entry right.
The archway leads to another hallway and our guest rooms and office.

This is what is on the other side of that little cut out in the first entry picture. It has never been used as an office area, but rather a folding station since the laundry room is directly across.

This hallway houses our office and craft room on the left, guest bath and closet on the right, and I'm standing in the entry of the other guest room. There is nothing on these walls. I need to change that asap.

And finally, the doggie nook I've shown a thousand times complete with Toula rummaging through the toy box.

The End!

Corkboard Quick-Fix

I've been wanting a message board to keep track of display invitations and such, but sometimes they can be such an eyesore. Inspired by the fun fabric on the one below, I decided to see what I could create!

After a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, I came back with a framed corkboard and some cute fabric.

All I did was remove the back of the frame, pull out the corkboard and attach the fabric with adhesive I had in my craft box, and put it all back together. It probably took me longer to decide on a fabric than to actually complete the board!

It was a quick project and the fabric adds some fun flair to my desk area! I love it! I also have good amount of leftover fabric to use elsewhere; now I just have to decide what for!

Busy Weekend!

We had a very busy but very fun weekend! LOTS of driving but to all good places!

Friday night Will and I had a "date night" and we headed into Dallas to do some shopping and have dinner. We tried a french restaurant called Toulouse and it was so good! Very cute and parisian themed with little bistro tables and french decor. Our waiter was actually french too; his name was Michel!

Saturday we got up early to drop the dogs off at Camp Lofland and get on the road! First stop was my cousin's little boy's 2nd birthday party. It had been a while since I had seen Jacob last, and he was so stinkin' cute! His party was truck themed because he is all boy and loooves trucks!

The birthday boy!

Waiting for us to hurry up and sing so he could have some of his truck cake!

Does he like it?

I think yes!

After the party which was about an hour away from our house, we got back on the road to drive three more hours to Austin for my friend Laura's wedding. It was unbelievably beautiful and will get it's own post very soon so stay tuned! We had a ton of fun dancing all night and catching up with Baylor friends.

This morning we got up bright and early to drive home and got home around lunch. We had lunch at Panera, picked up our puppies, and have been cleaning and hanging out the rest of the afternoon. We are gearing up for our vacation which is almost here!! I've been making lists of what we need to buy/pack/clean/etc. before we go! I can't wait!
