Friday!

Insta-Friday with Life Rearranged.

1. Liam holding his own bottle. He doesn't need me anymore. (dramatic, much?)
2. Impulse buy at Target. Everyone needs booties.
3. Liam playing with his homemade blocks. Thanks, Yaya!
4. Our view at dinner Wednesday night. Not too shabby.
5. Sitting on Daddy's lap, watching the game.
6. Liam trying to figure out how to get his feet in his mouth with these dang shoes on!
7. Crazy lightning storm last night!
8. Staring contest between baby and dog. (aka How I trick Liam into tummy time.)

--------

Our plans this weekend include:
1. Date-night tonight!
2. Watching the Baylor game tomorrow. 3-0 so far, Sic 'em Bears!
3. My girlfriend Nat is coming over for wine and relaxation. (Two of my favorite things with one of my favorite people!)
4. Hauling some of Liam's baby things up to the attic. Goodbye cradle and infant swing...sad...
5. Baking? I think yes.
6. Church and lunch after with our Sunday School class. I heart them!

---------

My mom is on her way here today. We have one mission and one mission only today. Find hat for Liam's 6 month photo session. I'm feeling optimistic. :)

--------

A big shout-out to all you fabulous ladies who brought me out from the rock I was living under and explained how the Erin Condren planners work. I ordered mine yesterday! AND I got it for only $25 thanks to the SEEYOUSOON25 coupon code! Thank you so much Lindsay!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Six Months.

Liam Briggs, you are SIX months old today!
(cue emotional mommy meltdown)

What have you been up to?

{at the doctor this morning}

You are 15 pounds, 14 ounces (25%) and 26.5 inches long (50%). Your head is 43.5 cm (50%). I think you may be a bit longer because your head wasn't quite where it was supposed to be on the chart but oh well. You're still small but right on track!

You wear size 2 diapers and pretty much all 3-6 month clothes. Although I did put you in some 6-9 month footies the other day and they were HUGE in the stomach but the sleeves were too short. Ha!

You still sleep great at night, about 8 to 8, but most nights you are down by 7:45. Also, you have been sleeping un-swaddled for almost a month! We started just a few days after you turned 5 months old. The first night you woke up twice, the second night you woke up once, and you've been fine ever since!

Your schedule this month was eating 5 times a day - 8,11,2,5,8 - and taking 3 naps at 10, 1 , and 4. However, your naps have been HORR.I.BLE. lately so just this week I starting adjusting your schedule to only fit in two naps a day. So far it's working because you took two 1 hour naps yesterday! That's the most you've slept during the day in weeks! Sad, but true!

You also eat "breakfast" which is oatmeal, and "dinner" which is usually a veggie and sometimes fruit too.

Your reflux medicine has done wonders. You don't fuss at all during/after meal times anymore, and your spitting-up has decreased a ton!

You've started reaching for me! Well, you reach for everything, but when it comes to people it's usually only me. You've reached for Daddy a few times too. It is the sweetest thing! And you not only reach with your arms, but your entire body lunges forward at whatever it is you want!

Your fingers are still permanently attached to your mouth, but no teeth yet. I'm anxious to see how cute you will be with a tooth, but I really love your gummy smile :)

You talk, squeal, and babble all the time. You say woo, boo, ba, and a lot of other sounds I don't know how to type, haha. You can also blow raspberries now and make this gurgling sound you think is hilarious!

Things You Love:

Your favorite toy is your little tubey-rattle thing. (Also called a Winkle. I googled it.)

Your favorite big toy is your jumperoo.

You love to eat! Your favorite foods are oatmeal, carrots, and sweet potatoes, but you've also tried peas, green beans, bananas, pears, and apples! You've also become a loud eater and you "mmm" and "nom nom" throughout your whole meal wether it's solids or milk. It's hilarious!

You also love bathtime, your playmat, going on walks, and standing!

Things You Don't Love:

You've become a rolling machine this month and refuse to stay on your tummy! Tummy time is few and far between right now :)

Firsts:

You went on your first airplane ride!

You went on your first vacation!

You are a SITTER! You have been doing the tri-pod sit for weeks, but now you can sit all the way up and play with your toys!

Happy half birthday, Lili-Boo!
(I wonder how long we can get away with calling him that?)

We love you!!

Wednesday Love!

Linking up with Jamie for What I Love Wednesday!

1. I am loving all the nice compliments on my diaper cake! I wish I had taken more pictures so I could post a how-to, but it was my first time making one and I wasn't sure how it was going to go. I followed this how-to when making the diaper tiers, and then just decorated it as I went along.

(Here's the only "before" shot I have.)

I used 80 size 1 diapers, and I put a rubber band around each diaper and then around each tier. Basically, you will need a lot of rubber bands. Then I just taped the ribbon, stuck on the flowers and chipboard letters (with sticky squares), added the crinkle paper, and put some booties on top!

2. I'm loving that in MOPS this morning I won the kid-friendly food prize! I made a Peanut Butter Cheese Ball that I found from, where else, Pinterest.

3. I'm loving that my prize for winning was two dozen free cupcakes from local baker BabyCakes by Angie! I'm going to see if I can save my coupon for Liam's birthday =)

4. I'm loving the Erin Condren planners everyone is going nuts about lately. I can't justify spending $50 on one this late in the year (although I could really use it, our family calendar is filling up fast!), so it's going on my Christmas list for next year.

Right now I like this style the best!

5. I'm loving that this cutie is down for a nap right now, ha! We are testing out a new schedule this week in hopes of getting some longer naps in and so far, so good!

Happy Wednesday!

Miscellany Monday

Linking up with Carissa for Miscellany Monday.

{one}

Fall is here. (At least it is indoors.)

{Two}

Sleepy eyes before bed.

{three}

Liam's first football game.

cuter than the quarterback --> duh.

It was Homecoming. This mum wasn't even that big, but I couldn't picture stalk people all night long. Oh Texas high school football, I love you.

{four}

My first diaper cake!

We had a "stock the changing table" shower for a friend in our Sunday School class. I think diaper cakes are my new favorite thing to make!

{five}

Just because he's cute :)

An Ode

Liam Briggs was a very sweet boy.

But he thought everything was a toy.

So he grabbed at mom's strap,

And reached for her lens.

And cried while she found a decoy.

The End.

Featured!

Today I'm being featured on Callie's blog talking about all things baby!

Bahamas - Saturday & Sunday

Saturday we started the day at the pool. Check out the dark clouds!

It started raining not long after we got there. Everyone just sat underneath their umbrellas until it passed. It only lasted about 20 minutes.

Sitting under the umbrella while it's raining obviously calls for a photo shoot! Liam did not love his sunglasses, but doesn't he look so relaxed?? :)

Talking to Daddy.

Proof that I wasn't always behind the camera...but I mostly was.

Playing in the pool! Liam's face cracks me up here. He is so enamored by the water, it looks like he's about to dive right in!

Sunscreen in the hair = fauxhawk!

Saturday afternoon we went to The Dig which was like an underground aquarium. I love how Liam and the giant fish are just staring at each other!

Do these eels remind anyone else of The Little Mermaid? That's immediately what I thought of when I saw them.

Dinner on Saturday night. Thanks Yaya for the adorable outfit!

Sunday we went to a different pool - I think there were like 11 total pools or something like that? Photo op on the way there.

This pool wasn't a kiddie pool so it was less crowded. Did I mention the resort really wasn't that crowded at all? I think September will be our vacation month until Liam starts school.

That afternoon we decided to try the beach again.

(You may be noticing the wardrobe changes every afternoon. Wet swimsuits and AC do not mix well, so we would change whenever we would go back to the room. Plus Liam would need a new swim diaper and a new coat of suntan lotion anyway so it was just easier.)

Still not a fan of the sand. It was so soft though!

You can't tell he hates it from behind :)

Time for another series of photos. These are hands down my favorite pictures from the trip.

"I like the beach!"
"I really like the beach!"
"I love the beach!"
"I'm crazy about the beach!"

"I hate the beach."

HA!

But really once he was out in the water he loved every second of it.

And yes I took my camera out into the ocean. No fear. That's what insurance is for.

This picture is just whatever, but I thought Liam's outfit was cute. We just got a salad and pizza this night and went back to our room to relax so we didn't take many pictures. But it was one of my favorite meals of the entire trip. They had Coke Zero in a can! You know I took one back to the room with me :)
