Five on Friday!

1. I know I'm WAY late to the party, but I just joined amazon prime and it has been my new best friend lately! The free 2-day shipping has already saved me tons, and it helped me when I was in a pinch getting something here on time recently. I was able to get Will's father's day gift ordered for $10 cheaper than the regular website it comes from, AND it's being shipped much faster! Holla!

2. I've become a big fan of Children's Place pajamas in the recent months, but my new favorite thing is their stinkin' adorable underwear (or undiewear as Liam calls it). We are in the early stages of potty training over here, so we went to celebrate by buying some big boy underwear the other day. Their choices are SO cute! Liam picked out dinosaurs and sharks, and the packs also come with some cute stripes and solids. He's only worn them for a short time just to test them out (and to see how cute his hiney looks), but he's been consistently going to the bathroom on the potty 4-5 times a day all week! He still wears a diaper in between because I don't think he's quite got the "I've got to pee sensation" down just yet. I usually have to ask if he needs to go to get things started. But I am so proud of how quickly he's catching on. Maybe potty training will be easy for us since the whole toddler bed issue wasn't so much. Aaaaand I hope I didn't just jinx myself!

3. Yesterday I made Liam 47 mini pancakes to freeze. He loves pancakes/waffles and in the past I've just bought eggos, but I thought I'd try making my own. I made plain ones for now, but he loves the blueberry whole grain waffles, so I may try to add some fruit in the next batch. I personally love apple and strawberry pancakes and Liam loves anything banana, so I am seeing lots of pancake options in our future! It didn't take long at all, and this batch should last 2-3 weeks at least! Also, next week I'll be posting a TON of toddler recipes from a recipe swap playdate we went to this week. Stay tuned!

Someone kept stealing them so I had to cook fast!

4. I could watch Liam sleep all day, everyday. And between the hours of 1pm and 4pm I pretty much do.

5. I want to make this or something similar for Liam's room. I just love this quote. The last time I tried to make a wood sign though it was a complete disaster...dare I try again? And where do you find pallet wood? Whenever I see a fantastic piece made out of pallet wood, the person talks about how they found it on the side of the road or some other random and cheap place - I just don't have that kind of luck! So where can I just go pick some up and be done with it?!

{25 Weeks}

How Far Along: 25 Weeks, 4 days.

15 weeks to go! Tomorrow will be 100 DAYS to go!

Size of baby: Baby is the length of a large rutabaga and weighs about 1.5 lbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +13-14

Maternity Clothes: A mix but mostly maternity. I got a couple pairs of shorts this past weekend, and I'm hoping I have enough stuff to last me the next three months. Do me a favor Texas and don't get TOO hot this summer, okay??

Gender: baby girl!

Movement: Yes, tons! She is moving all day long and I've even felt her up around my ribs a few times. She packs a mean punch!

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good lately. I'm definitely glad to be back home to my memory foam mattress and snoogle though. The hotel bed gave me a backache!

What I miss: Nothing! Things have been great lately and I'm feeling good! I have felt like I've had more energy the past few weeks, but I still get tired pretty early. And things are moving along in both Liesl and Liams' rooms which is always exciting!

I do miss not having heartburn I guess, but that comes with the territory of being pregnant. It just came back this week which was perfect timing because my weekly bump date told me if we could see Liesl right now, we would know the color and texture of her hair. So I bet it's growing in as speak and my stomach is paying for it. I'm going to guess it's dark brown just like Liam's! It would be funny if she came out a blonde though which technically is an option since Will was born blonde (but I doubt it). We'll see!

Cravings: When we were out to dinner for our anniversary, I HAD to have chili rellenos - um, I've never had chili rellenos before. It's like the lo mein incident! I don't know where these cravings for foods I've never had is coming from?! My top go-to foods this pregnancy though have definitely been peanut butter and pickles. Not together! Ick!

Best Moment This Week: Our anniversary/babymoon was fun although I guess technically that was last week and this week. Liam has all of a sudden become super interested in the potty this week though! I may not have two in diapers after all. I can't decide if I'm happy about that or terribly sad. Oh, hormones.

Anniversary Weekend Recap

Well, we survived our longest weekend away from Liam and no one (mainly me) seems too traumatized by it!

We actually had a great little getaway, and Liam showed us multiple times via FaceTime that he didn't miss us one bit.

We left early Saturday morning for San Antonio. It's funny we chose San Antonio because we had been tossing around a few ideas both in Texas and outside. Ultimately it worked out the best because Will just can't take any extra days off work right now, and we didn't want to waste too much time traveling. But what was funny was when we were reminiscing about anniversaries past, we realized how much we like to travel to different Texas cities! For our first anniversary we went to Fredericksburg, last year we spent the weekend in Galveston, and now San Antonio!

Our early morning departure! This picture is dark on purpose - mama's not wearing any makeup yet!

On the way down, we stopped at my favorite outlet mall ever in San Marcos. Why is it my favorite? Ummm...this is why!

Our big purchase was a new Kate Spade diaper bag for baby girl me! So what that I already have two diaper  bags - I think I'm going to sell them anyway. They were more gender neutral, and this time I wanted something more girly. And I don't think it gets more girly than a cheetah print bag with hot pink lining! Oh yes I did :)

And how fun is this -- I ran into a sweet blog reader and a friend of the lovely Rachel I wrote about last week while shopping! Hey Elizabeth!!

By the time we got to the hotel (after driving most of the way in pouring rain) we relaxed for a bit and then headed out for a late dinner at La Fogata.

On Sunday we walked and walked and walked all day! We walked to brunch at the Geunther House, walked from there to the Alamo, walked the Riverwalk back to our hotel for a short break, walked from our hotel to Market Square for some shopping, and then walked back to the hotel! We got the sweetest little dress for Liesl and Liam is loving his guitar! We also got him an Alamo puzzle that he likes, but the guitar was the real winner.

Sunday night we ate at La Hacienda de los Barrios. Their outdoor seating is huge and the atmosphere was so fun. There was live music and string lights, and we saw a birthday party, an engagement party, and a gender reveal while there!

Monday we drove all day - Well, we maaaaybe made a stop at another outlet mall. The deals were just too good to pass up, and Liam ended up benefitting from it the most! - and finally made it home to our baby boy!

I told Will I just wanted one "real" picture on our actual anniversary. I had to laugh later when I realized that must be a go-to pose for us because we took an almost identical picture on our honeymoon!

5 years ago...we were such babies! Such skinny babies, sheesh. At least I have the old "I'm 6 months pregnant in that picture excuse, right?"

It was such a fun and relaxing Memorial Day/Anniversary/Babymoon getaway! I forsee us taking another one in ohhhh, two years or so!

Looking forward to it babe! :)

Trendy Tot Tuesday - Memorial Day Deals!

I don't know if any of you went shopping this weekend, but there were some great sales out there. We hit up my favorite outlet mall on the drive down to our anniversary getaway, and as usual, it did not dissapoint!

These were a few deals we found for the littles. Most of the great sales are over, but all of these items still have some kind of deal going on online :)

Gap

We got this tee 50% off, but they still have a 15% off deal going on online with the code GAPGIFT.

Janie & Jack

All of these we just found on their sale rack. The same or similar items are still available on their website.

(Similar - We actually got a purple version to match the bunny tee. I die!)

(Similar - The ones we got are light blue with sailboats on the belt instead of crabs.)

Crewcuts

They don't have any extra sales going on at the moment, but all of these items can be found for a discount on their factory site.

(Similar - The plaid we found had colors that match the blue button down perfectly.)

(Oops, forgot to add these to the collage!)

Five on Friday!

Saw this new fun link-up and I had to join in!

Five randoms on this Friday...

1. Liesl's room is not the only one under construction in our house. I don't know if it's my nesting instinct kicking in or an "I don't want unborn Liesl to get all the attention" guilt thing (I'm going with the latter), but Liam's room is now getting a facelift  as well! I've only made a few small changes so far, but it's definitely going to be brighter and bolder to fit his growing personality!

Goodbye, beautiful nursery...

Hello, toddler room! (in the making)

2. I am so proud of Liam for going to the bathroom in his little potty twice in the last couple of days! We are not hardcore potty-training by any means, but every once in a while I will casually ask him if he wants to go. If he says no I leave it alone, and if he says yes I sit him down on it but nothing usually happens. Well now he's going with hardly any coaxing and is SO proud of himself afterward! He sure does love the cheering and the Dum-Dum he gets too :)

3. One of the mom groups I'm in started a new Pinterest-themed playdate series, and it's been so fun so far! You plan a playdate based on anything toddler-friendly you've seen on Pinterest. I kicked it off with a Painting and Pinwheels playdate, and all the kids painted birdhouses. I also got them the cutest aprons to wear because who doesn't love a toddler running around in just a diaper and apron? I mean, come on!

4. Does anyone have this? Does it live up to the hype? Popsicles are the one cold sweet treat Liam somewhat likes to eat, so I've been thinking about getting one for us to enjoy this summer. I've seen them at HomeGoods lately and have almost ended up with one in my cart on more than one occasion.

5.  Tomorrow is mine and Will's anniversary! We will be celebrating 5 years on 5-25, -- I have a thing for fives apparently! I seriously can't believe it's been 5 years. I'm sure I'll be saying that again at 10 years, 20 years, etc. We have come a long way in 5 years, and I can't wait to see what the rest of our journey has in store for us. I love you, William! You are my bestie :)

From this...

To this...

and to be continued!

Happy a great Memorial weekend, friends!

{24 Weeks}

Holy cow, this dress makes me look huge! I mean, I know I'm getting bigger everyday, but I don't think I look quite this large in real life. Thanks a lot dress. You're still super cute though so I'll keep wearing you :)

How Far Along: 24 Weeks, 4 days.

(6 months now and only 16 weeks to go!)

Size of baby: Baby is the length of an ear of corn and weighs over a pound!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +12

Maternity Clothes: A Mix of both. The dress above is the maternity dress I got Mother's Day weekend from Old Navy!

Gender: little miss

Movement: Yes and getting stronger everyday!

Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good!

What I miss: Nothing. Okay, okay, I'd love a fruity frozen cocktail :)

Cravings: Nothing too crazy this week, although I'm not sure I mentioned my newfound love of Chinese food this pregnancy. I have never been a huge Chinese food fan, but I was CRAVING lo mien during my first trimester (even though I'd never had it before - how can you crave something you've never had??!) Anyways, I got it one night and loved it! I almost got it again this week, but never felt like driving across town to the Chinese restaurant. Me = LAZY. I'll probably get some next week though. I can literally taste it right now. Yummmm.

Best Moment This Week: Getting Liesl's first piece of furniture painted! It looks so great! I will do a separate post on it - we tried Annie Sloane Chalk Paint and I have been converted! It is so easy to use and looks fabulous!

Here's a "before and in progress" photo after the first coat of paint went on.

Also, it hasn't happened yet, but I'm pretty excited for mine and Will's FIVE year anniversary this Saturday! Ugh, I feel old typing that. But I'm excited to get away for the weekend while Liam is spoiled by his grandparents!

Much Love for Couture Flower!

Not long after I announced we were having a girl, sweet Rachel messaged me and asked if she could send Liesl some goodies from her etsy shop, Couture Flower. Of course I immediately said yes, so she said to be on the lookout for some custom made headbands for our little lady!

You guys. Her headbands are To.Die.For!

I just love how girly this Shabby Flower Chevron Headband is! I mean, hello,  pink + chevron = trendiest baby on the block! And if pink isn't your thing or you're looking for something to match a specific outfit, they come in a rainbow of colors!

Rachel remembered that Will and I are both Baylor alums and sent Liesl her first green and gold accessory! The great thing about these team shabby headbands is that Rachel can custom make all different teams! I cannot wait until Liesl can sport this darling headband at Homecoming this fall. Yep, you better believe we are taking her to Homecoming this year...even though she'll only be 2ish months old. It's never too early to visit your future alma mater! :)

And this one. Oh my gosh, I almost passed out from the cuteness of this Rolled Rosette Lace Headband. I cannot get over the vintage lace and broach and the sweet dainty rosettes. It's just so sweet and feminine. You better believe this headband will be tagging along on our newborn shoot. And probably the hospital. And probably church. And probably everywhere.

Rachel may just have the cutest business cards I've ever seen!

As a super sweet bonus, she sent a set of elastic hair ties for me to use! Since I can't do anything with Liesl's headbands but stare at them, these babies have been getting lots of use.

ALL of the elastic Rachel uses is super soft and stretchy, and I'm glad I got to preview it before putting them on Liesl's head. I have no worries about them being too tight or rubbing her little head the wrong way - a big plus in my book!

Rachel is super talented and actually makes MUCH more, all of which is available in her shop!

You can find custom tutus and dresses...

and my favorite thing - GORGEOUS custom wedding sashes!

There really is something for everyone!

Head over to Rachel's shop, Couture Flower, to get your goodies! She has so graciously added a coupon code for all my readers. Add Lofland10 and you will receive 10% off your purchase!

Rachel also has a Facebook page, Couture Flower, which she regularly updates with her newest items, and you can follow her on Instagram @rmkuelbs to see pictures of some of her items as she makes them! Make sure to go like and follow both of those ASAP!

ONE more exciting thing!

When Miss Liesl makes her debut is a few months and can properly show off her new adorable headbands, I will be hosting a Couture Flower GIVEAWAY!

I can't wait for a reader to WIN a FREE goodie from Rachel's shop!

Thank you Rachel for being so sweet to send me and Liesl these goodies, and thank you for allowing me to share some of this goodness with my readers!

Have fun shopping, y'all! :)

Balloon Birthday Party!

I mentioned in my weekend post that we went to Liam's little friend Mallory's second birthday party on Saturday. It was such a cute balloon theme with lots of pink and things that POP!

I  My cricut helped create some of the decorations for the party which I think all turned out super cute!

Liam had a blast playing with his friends and making some new ones! Amanda's sister-in-law Kate has a sweet little girl, Eva, who was just about as sneaky as Liam was in going through all of Mallory's birthday presents after they were all opened, ha!

Today is Mallory's actual birthday so we met them up at an indoor playground and went out to lunch to celebrate!

We have spent the rest of the day indoors in anticipation for some big storms. Thankfully nothing has been as terrible as the destruction in Oklahoma, but everyone is taking extra precaution because of it and we have been under a tornado watch all day. A lot of schools released early, and Will's company allowed them to leave early if they had families at home to take care of. So thankful he is home to ride this out with us! Stay safe everyone and many prayers to the great state of OK!

Weekend Highs and Lows

High

Friday we spent the day with my mom and went to the fair! Liam of course had a blast because he got anything and everything he wanted. Pony ride? Check! TWO rides on the carousel? Check, Check! Funnel Cake? Check! Oh wait, that was for me. :)

Low

We were out in the heat for over 3 hours and I didn't drink enough water therefore got super overheated. Pregnant lady fail. I spent the rest of the afternoon in bed with a fan on my face while my mom and Liam had all the fun.

High

Family dinner night at Fuzzy's tacos. I got my craving fix and Liam got to run amock. The restaurant next door was empty so Liam kept himself (and Will) busy by running all around their porch.

High

Saturday we went to miss Mallory's second birthday party! She was so happy the whole time and clearly completely thrilled with her new pink tricycle!

Low

Liam tripped and fell on the way back to the car and got his first double knee boo-boo. He was pretty upset about the tiny dots of blood on his knees, but enjoyed telling anyone and everyone about his boo-boos for the rest of the weekend.

High

We started our first Annie Sloane chalk paint project!

Low

Freaked out after the first coat because it was so streaky.

High

Jumped for joy after the second coat miraculously covered all the streaks and left us with a beautiful Paris Grey changing table for Liesl! Now we just have to finish with the clear wax tonight and the first nursery project will be complete. More to come when it's finished!

High

Spent Saturday night eating outside on a picnic blanket while Liam ran his heart out at the splash pad.

High

Awesome church service and sunday school with good friends. Delicious lunch with the in-laws.

Low

Found out Will's family dog passed away later that afternoon. Sweet Dixie.

High

Will headed out to a baseball game with friends, and I got some good crafting in while my parents stopped by to entertain Liam.

Low

Suffered my worst glue gun burn to date. I may have a dime sized blister, but I also have some stinkin' cute pinwheel cupcake toppers to show for it. My left hand was out of commission for the rest of the evening. Ouch.

High

My parents stayed long enough to help me get Liam fed.

Low

They didn't stay long enough to help me when he peed all over the floor. Bummer.

And that was our weekend!
