One Month.

Liam Briggs, you are one month old!
(As of yesterday. I'm a day late.)

What are you up to??

You are eating about every 3 hours during the day and every 3-4 hours at night. Although last night you slept for 5 hours straight - it was glorious!

You are still wearing newborn diapers, but we're on our last box and are going to try out 1's next.

You wear newborn clothes mostly BUT I put you in a 0-3 outfit two days ago and it didn't look completely ridiculous. You're just so long and lean you have a hard time filling them out.

You can talk! Ha. You never made much noise before besides crying, but now you say "ooh" "aaa" and "uuh" all the time! You also do this squeaky monkey noise thing too when you're unhappy. And you grunt. And you're a loud eater - smacking and gulping the whole time.

Baths are getting better. You don't love them but you tolerate them as long as you can suck on your hands. You enjoy the lotion after - it makes you sleepy.

You like to suck on your hands/fingers and sometimes just your thumb. You also like your paci, but tend to spit it out when you're tired of it.

You were cracking your Yaya up yesterday with your fussiness. When we were taking 1 month photos you would get SO mad, but as soon as I would pick you up you immediately calmed down. Over and over again like a broken record. Luckily we got a few good shots!

You hate being strapped into your car seat. You do this Frankenstein thing with your arms where you completely stiffen them up so we can't get them through the straps. It's super annoying but I love you anyway :)

We take you out a lot, but I don't take you out much on my own yet. I have this fear that I'm going to have a cart full of groceries or something and you're going to completely melt down and I won't know what to do. I usually wait until I have Yaya or Daddy to help me.

You have a lot of nicknames - Li-li (the most popular), Briggsy, little pirate, booger, bubbie (I have no idea why).

We celebrated with a little baby bundt cake!

Aaand...we're done!

Happy One Month baby boy!

WILW!

Hosted by Jamie!

*1*
My friend Nicole came over yesterday to watch Liam so I could take a shower! Liam is going through a little phase right now where he will only nap in my arms (it's not the worst thing ever) but I can't get much done this way SO she gave me a little break so I could clean up. It was the nicest thing! Not to mention she has two small children of her own and is pregnant with a third! I definitely owe her.

*2*
Elizabeth gave me the "One Lovely Blog" award! Thank you!

*3*
The Royal Wedding is in 2 days!! And I'm pretty excited it starts at 3am because I'm usually up then for a feeding anyways so it will give me something to watch.

*4*
Liam will be one month this Friday as well! Ok so I'm not totally loving how fast he's growing up, but I'm loving that he is a healthy growing boy!

*5*
I'm loving that Will and I have zero plans for the weekend. Yay for downtime!

*6*
Now that the baby is here and all the prepping for him is finished, I've started thinking more about our house and some things I want to change/update. First up is the laundry room!

4 Weeks!

Happy 4 weeks Liam Briggs!

You turn one month old this Friday so I'm going to start doing monthly updates.

I don't have much in the way of stats since we don't go back to the doctor until 2 months but I can tell you're growing. Daddy weighed you on our scale last night and you are about 8 1/2 lbs!

The weather has been icky so we haven't done much this week, but we might get out today to finally go get your birth certificate.

Everyone comments on how strong you are! You kick and push so hard with your little chicken legs and you are awesome at holding your neck up.

Here are some more of your recent funny faces...

Ok, so this one is more mad than funny but I still laugh when I see that lip stick out!

And I think it's safe to say that you look just like your daddy. Look at their expressions!

But that HAIR is courtesy of mama!

Momma is a little bit in denial that you are getting so old so cut me some slack and slow down please! =)

Easter Weekend

~Friday~

William had Good Friday off and any day I have an extra pair of hands to help is definitely a good day! We spent the day just relaxing as a family. Will did some yard work and we took Liam on a walk. We also went out to dinner with Will's extended family for Easter and Liam got to meet some more relatives for the first time!

*Side Story*
After our walk I wanted to shower and Will needed to finish up some stuff outside. Liam almost always throws a fit when we get him in or out of strollers, carseats, etc. so I really didn't want to disturb him right before hopping in the shower. So I just wheeled the stroller into our bathroom and took a shower while he slept! And he was still nice and peaceful when I got out so I wheeled him back into the living room while I got some stuff done around the house. Whatever works I guess!

~Saturday~

Jon & Joanna came to visit! We just hung around the house all afternoon, and the boys grilled food for lunch while Jo and I brainstormed wedding shower ideas for our friend Mayra. It was a relaxing day!

~Easter Sunday~

I love Easter! It's such a joyous holiday and what better timing for Liam's first holiday than with a celebration of new life! And of course all the Easter Bunny stuff is fun too =)

I love how his basket turned out and how cute is that bunny!? We just got him some Easter board books and a few little toys. I actually only got a couple items. The rest of the basket was supplied by my mom and Will's grandmother.

After all that shopping for the perfect Easter outfit I ended up just putting him back in his coming home outfit. It fit him the best and it coordinated the best with what we were wearing. =) I'm going to save the other outfit for Mother's Day.

It was also Liam's first time to church! He did such a great job sitting through big church and sunday school. I left with him once to feed him during the service but other than that he pretty much slept the whole time!

We had brunch with Will's family after church which Liam pretty much slept through too except for when it was time for bottle number 2. After lunch we went back to Will's parents' house for a bit to see what the Easter Bunny had brought him. Then it was back home to quickly change and then back on the road to my parents' house!

The Easter Bunny of course came to visit Liam at my parents' as well! My mom got Liam two personalized books - one was an Easter book, and one was called "Special Delivery" and has all his birth information in it. I love them! We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening relaxing, eating, and visiting with family.

It's been a long day! My little bunny was pooped!

His bunny hat was too big for him but we tried anyways. Doesn't he look thrilled, haha.

His bunny onesie my mom made him!

And of course the little pants with the bunny on the booty were too cute to pass up!

Yes I stuck my kid in his Easter basket. He'll only be this little once!

Happy First Easter, Liam!

Keepsakes

See that empty shadow box on the wall?

My mom got it for Liam's nursery, and I filled it up when we got home from the hospital with some very important keepsakes.

I kept Liam's hat, his wrist and ankle bracelets, the sign from his isolette, a cross given to us by a friend at the hospital, and a baby feet picture from the day he was born.

I am not a hoarder, but since Liam's birth I am feeling to need to keep everything.

I may have even asked Will if we should keep his umbilical cord stump...he said no and assured me that was quite disgusting. I know, I know. We threw it out.
