Tuesday Thursday Randoms!

Once again, I just have lots to catch up on! I've missed like three week/end recaps in a row so lets hit the highlights, shall we? And also, I started this on Tuesday and am just now finishing on Thursday. Halloween week is a busy one! 

Liesl during her "performance." She's improved since this day to standing and doing one or two dance moves. She mostly just smiles though. Her Christmas recital should be entertaining :) 

Mondays are our most laid back days. Liesl has dance in the morning, and then the rest of day we are free as birds. Which usually means we stay home and bake treats. 

And sneak dough. 

Liesl got her first haircut! Just a trim to even out the back and her bangs a little bit, but it looks much thicker  in the back now. I'll do a separate post soon, but be prepared for lots of crying pictures. Sister was not a fan. 

We also celebrated homecoming week for our town's football team! Go Jackets!

We met up with friends for the parade 

And spotted a Mom-Mom in it! Who jumped out to hang with us for a bit. The kids weren't excited at all, ha! I don't think Liesl could cheese any harder if she tried.

We all had picture day at school. Liam naturally rocked it and Liesl wouldn't let anyone touch her and crumpled her dress up in her arms so high, you could see her bloomers. Fitting. 

Thank goodness I got some good ones before we left. 

We met my family at the Greek food festival last weekend! 

The church hosting it had built a new church since we'd been there last and it was beautiful. 

We watched a lot of traditional Greek dancing and ate a lot of traditional Greek food.

And got baseballs painted on our faces! 

It was a fun afternoon! 

My best friend, Lera, from college came to town!!! She moved to Chicago after graduation and my wedding, and this was her first time back to Texas! A two hour lunch was not nearly long enough, but it was so good to see her! Come back soon, lady! 

The kids did great posing for a group picture, and then Liam got a little too friendly with Liesl's neck!

The kids really got into the role of monsters in their Halloween pjs. 

And then snuggled up to watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" 

We escaped the rain last Friday and spent the day at the museum.

Liam is ALL about bringing me flowers. Anytime he spots flowers (or even the weeds that look like flowers) he has to bring me a bouquet! I just love him. 

The crowds were so low that we got to do some new-to-us exhibits! The weather area and news anchor station are always packed, so it was exciting to get to pretend to be weather people!

And that's been just some of what we've been up to! I also broke my phone (womp, womp) and Will has been traveling quite a bit. This week has been full of Halloween fun, and as long as the rain stays away, we've got big plans for Saturday!

2011

Liam's first Halloween at 7 months old. He had two costumes that year because, first child. I got him the pumpkin because I've been dreaming about a baby in a pumpkin costume since at least forever, and my mom found the little cow costume that was too cute to resist!  

Look at that little face! We took Liam to the arboretum and got pictures of him in his pumpkin costume next to lots and lots of...pumpkins!

The cow costume was what he wore on actual Halloween day. Will and I got off easy as farmers, but sadly not all of us, ahem Will, want to participate in dress-up so this was one of the only years we had a "family theme."

Baby Liam and Baby Mallory! My friend Amanda and I have taken their picture together every year, and it's so cute/sad to watch them grow! 

2012

Liam was very into Jake & The Neverland Pirates, so I made (the one and only time) him a pirate costume! He looked so darn darling. 

Pirate Liam and Minnie Mallory! They were very into Disney Junior this year, can you tell? 

2013

My first year with two costumes to coordinate! Liam was crazy about firefighters so his costume was easy, and what's better than a sweet little 1 month old dalmatian? She pretty much slept through the entire holiday but looked stinking cute doing it.

2014

Also known as the year I put my second baby in a pumpkin costume. If you'll remember, Liam wore this at 7 months old and now 13 month old Liesl got her turn. Thank goodness she's petite! And I will save this pumpkin costume forever now. 

This year Liam was very into fairy tales and wanted so badly to be the big bad wolf! So Liesl was the girliest little pink pig there ever was! I was so in love with both of their costumes this year! 

I mean! 

This year we got a friend group picture at our church's Trunk or Treat. 

I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down! 

2015

Liam went back and forth between two costumes but finally settled on...another pirate. He still watches Disney Junior and still loves Jake & The Neverland Pirates so this year he is going to be Peter Pan and miss Liesl is of course going as Tinkerbell! Costumes were a cinch this year as we just popped in and out of the Disney store. I did find Liesl the cutest shoes at a local boutique on super sale to wear with her outfit -- they may just be my favorite part! And I had to hide Liam's costume because he already broke the bow and arrow wrestling with Daddy. #itsnonstop

State Fair Fun!

Last Wednesday Will took off work and we took off to the fair! It was seriously the best day to go; low crowds and the admission was cheaper if you brought can food to donate. It was hot but not unbearable, and we kept our expectations low which is always key. Literally the only things we wanted to do were eat a Fletcher's corn dog and check out minivans (YEP!). 

There was this cute interactive "farm" right when we got in that the kids really loved. They had to dress up and complete all of a farmer's daily tasks (watering the garden, collecting eggs, feeding the animals, milking the cow, etc) to earn play money that they then exchanged for a free snack! 

And then we got pics with Big Tex! This was also on the "fingers crossed we got one" list! 

It was HOT so we walked through as many buildings as we could including the dairy building to get some free ice cream!!

We told Liam he could pick two rides to go on and he picked this rollercoaster as his first ride. This was his first time on a rollercoaster (most of the rides he's been unjust go in a circle) and he was NOT a fan to say the least. He didn't cry but when he got off I asked him if he had fun and his response was a hard "no." 

He chose not do any more rides alone but we really wanted to ride the ferris wheel to we did that next.

Last stop was the petting zoo! 

This was our first time back in a few years, but I'm so glad we went!
