Seven Months.
Liam Briggs, you are SEVEN months old today!
What have you been up to??
You wear size 3-6,6-9, and 6-12 month clothing depending on the brand. Most 6-9 & 6-12 are still a bit big.
You are somewhere around 16lbs and 27 inches long.
You wear size 2 diapers.
You nurse/have a bottle 4 times a day and eat 3 meals a day. We just added a lunch meal!
Aside from this week (see previous rant, haha), you typically sleep 8-8.
Your naps have been amazing this month! You now take two a day, around 11 and 3. You are such an angel and go down so easy. Your morning nap is your long nap and usually last 1.5-2 hours. Your afternoon nap is shorter and is usually 30 min - 1hr.
We've started weaning you off your reflux medicine. You only take it once a day now and have never cried! Your spitting up has almost completely disappeared which is great!
You are not showing any interest in crawling, but you love to "walk" with us holding your hands and are pretty good!
You can also bear all your weight on your legs and will stand on your own holding onto a stationary object (like the couch, coffee table, etc.).
Things You Love:
Your walker! Yaya got it for you and you absolutely love it. You would probably spend all day in it if I let you. It took you a little while to figure it out and you used to only go backwards, but now you move all around the living room and kitchen in it!
Your also still love your jumperoo and just sitting on the floor with a pile of toys to play with. Easy to please!
Your favorite toys this month are Sophie and your soft stackable rings. You have been going to town gnawing on poor Sophie, but still no teeth yet.
Talking! You say "ba-ba-ba-ba" ALL day long. And I don't think I mentioned it last month, but for the past couple of months you have started talking yourself to sleep. It's hilarious. You just "aaaaaah-aaaaaah" in this soft, tired voice until you drift off. Even the ladies in the church nursery have commented on how funny it is!
Banging! You bang on everything, but especially your highchair and bumbo tray. Also, splashing in the bathtub is still a favorite pastime.
Sticking out your tongue! Your tongue is your newest discovery, and you are always sticking it out at us when you smile, blowing it at us, and twisting it. It's so funny!
Things You Don't Love:
We found out this month you like hay just about as much as you like sand, haha.
I think you've started getting a little separation anxiety, and sometimes you just want to be held.
I can't think of anything else - you are such a happy baby!
Firsts This Month:
We moved you up to stage two foods so now you eat fruit/veggie combos and you have tried some new foods like blueberries, raspberries, peaches, apricots, squash, chicken, and turkey. You have loved everything - you basically just LOVE to eat!
You spent your first weekend away from us! My parents kept you at our house and said you were an angel of course!
You can hold your own bottle! You can also hold your sippy cup, and have had your first taste of juice.
We love you so much, Liam!
You are such a sweet, sweet boy!
(He may be getting bigger, but that crazy patch of hair that sticks up in the back will always be there!)

Why I Can Never Leave My Child Again.
(And other dramatics from a sleep-deprived mama.)
Ok so I had a great time on our little weekend getaway. Maybe too good a time. Because I am paying for it now.
While we were away Liam drank bottles of pumped milk for nearly 3 straight days. He's never had that many bottles consecutively, but he's no stranger to bottles so it really never crossed my mind that this might become a problem.
Well, it has now become a problem.
We got back on Sunday afternoon, and I have been nursing him since then while he has been fighing/refusing/biting/laughing/basically anything besides nursing since. Yikes.
Because of his lack of nursing, he has been hungry. Specifically in the middle of the night.
Sunday night - he slept through the night because he had mostly bottles.
Monday night- 4 am wake up call.
Tuesday night- 5 am wake up call.
Wednesday night- actually slept fine, thank you Jesus.
Thursday night- midnight wake up call.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? Is it going to get better? Or did I dig my own breastfeeding grave?
I'm not a great pumper so I can't just keep doing that, and more bottles will only make it worse. I used to be able to feed him in the middle of a bright room with my husband walking around and the tv on loud and both dogs hanging out, and now it's a dark quiet room where I have to constantly turn his head to me to get his attention.
I think he's frustrated the milk doesn't come out as fast as it does in a bottle (he can suck those things down like it's going out of style!) but I can't do anything about that??!! Also, he can hold his own bottle so he mostly drinks them on his own on the floor where he can look around. Now he's back to staring at just me. Apparently I'm not longer entertaining enough :(
HELP!
Thanks. :)

I Love...

...that Liam and I watched his first Disney movie yesterday. Well ok, I watched it. He fell asleep 10 minutes in. I'm excited to start his Disney collection!

...that watching Winnie the Pooh was the only time I turned the TV on yesterday. Instead, I listened to this 3 times in a row. It just came out on Monday!
...playdates at the Arborteum with Tracey and Max! We could not get these two to look at the camera at the same time to save our lives, but don't they look completely adorable anyways?!
(No, we did not put their arms around each other. They did that on their own!)
...that we now get the Toys R Us catalog. And the BIG Christmas one just arrived. It was really fun to flip through, and (bonus!) I discovered Liam's big gift we're getting him is on sale! We will be picking that up pretty soon!
...his hair. It's getting long again, but I think this time I'm just going to let it keep growing and see what happens, ha.
...this Missoni suitcase at Target. I really didn't like much of the Missoni line when it came out (horizontal zigzags across my hips? no thanks) but I looooove this cute carry-on!
...the $15 off coupon from Boden I got in the mail. I really think I need to spend it on this moose shirt!
...that I got to walk down the aisle with this guy for the second time in my life last weekend. He's cute :)

Bahamas - Monday and Tuesday
Better late than never?
My bad :)
Monday: Our last day in Atlantis.
I did the dolphin experience where you got to meet & play with the dolphins. I had always wanted to do it so Will stayed on the beach with Liam so I could! Sweet hubby :)
Aren't they gorgeous! (The dolphins, not the wetsuits, haha.)
We spent our last afternoon at a different pool that barely had any people in it so Will was able to push Liam all around. He had the best time!
The view from our balcony.
Before dinner. I thought Liam looked so cute in his linen shirt!
Tuesday we came home! Between the layovers, delayed flights, and time changes, we had a long day of travel. We finally made it home around midnight!
We all felt like this...

Miscellany Monday.
My miscellaneous Monday with Carissa!
1. We survived the weekend away! The wedding was beautiful, Liam had the best time with my parents, and I got a HUGE baby smile and lots of cuddles when we got home! Pretty perfect :)
The happy couple!
2. We were only gone 48 hours, but my mom managed to keep us completely up to date with 18 pictures and 6 videos sent via our iphones. Oh, and we also face-timed both days. God bless technology. And my mom.
She even sent us a picture of the dogs!
3. I'm already ready for the weekend, ha. We actually have nothing planned which is nice and probably why I'm looking so forward to it.
4. It's supposed to get chilly again this week so we stocked up on cold weather food at the grocery store for this week. Today I'm making chicken spaghetti.
5. Our In & Out opened this past Thursday! Woohoo! We may have had that for dinner last night. :)
6. I think this is hilarious. Parents + texting = endless amusement for me.

Happy Monday!

Insta-Friday, A Sneak Peak, & Leaving My Baby...
William and I are leaving Liam behind this weekend to be a part of our friends' wedding day. We are super excited to celebrate with them, but leaving Liam is HARD for me. This is the first time I've been apart from him for more than 6 hours in the last 15 months. (Yes, I'm including my pregnancy. He was there!) Prayers that the chaos and excitement of wedding weekend help the time to go by fast so I can get back to my Li-Boo!

And here's a sneak peak from Liam's 6 month photo shoot.
We went to look at all of them last night, and I almost passed out from all the cuteness!
