Stars & Stripes!

Reppin' the red, white, and (mostly) blue at the pool!

Mallory & Liam, BFF's

Fourth of July this year meant swimming, dinner on the lake, dessert and hanging out with Sunday School friends, and keeping Liam up way too late for his first fireworks show with the Estes' and Killough's! We enjoyed having Will home in the middle of the week and loved celebrating our land of the free and home of the brave! Happy 4th, y'all :)

Easter Weekend 2012

Our Easter weekend was very slow-paced and laid back. Probably our most relaxing holiday since Liam was born. We decided this year to not try and make it to both families since that would require us to be driving most of the day. I don't like not seeing both our families on holidays, but it's just not always practical. We may start switching off from now on, I don't know. How do y'all do it???

-- Friday --

Will had Good Friday off work, so we spent the day running our weekend errands and we went out to lunch to La Madeleine. I told Will I wanted a little herb garden so I could have fresh herbs to cook with, and he ended up making me an herb garden and a small vegetable garden. We are now growing herbs, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, and eggplant!

-- Saturday --

Saturday morning Will made Liam a tent that he hung out in for all of five minutes.

Then it became a parachute!

As much as Liam loved the parachute, he did not feel the same about bubbles!

It probably wasn't smart that I started off with a bubble machine that produces 500 bubbles in 60 seconds. Maybe next time I'll start a little slower! But thanks for the b-day gift Mallory and Amanda! Liam will warm up to it soon, I'm sure :)

He did however enjoy playing with sticks.

Let the boyness begin!

The first thing he decided to take out with his stick was of course the bubble machine! Ha!

-- Sunday --

The Easter Bunny came!

Easter morning was so fun! This was the first time Liam has really gotten in to opening a gift. Probably because it wasn't wrapped and he could dig right in. It was so cute!

Easter morning before church!

My boys!

After church we tried to get a picture of Liam and Mallory, BUT someone just learned how to crawl and is taking full advantage of her new mobility and someone else didn't get his morning nap in the nursery so he was not a happy camper.

This was the best we got. Liam looks pretty exhausted, but doesn't Mallory just look the cutest! I love sweet little girl Easter dresses!

My little man perked up after lunch with Will's family, so I was able to get a cute picture. Too bad it was only with my phone, but I wanted a picture of him in his cute outfit!

Birthday DAY!

I'm running like two weeks behind on posts, but I'm trying to keep them in order. Hopefully I'll get to Easter before the next big holiday! This is the last birthday post, I promise :)

For Liam's actual birthday, Will took off work and we all headed to the zoo! It was such a fun day!

They had a new exhibit that Will and I were really excited about!

Jambo!
(Mean Girls, anyone??)

Watching the penguins eat. We were lucky in that it wasn't a very busy day so we got front row views of everything!

Giraffes! These were hands down mine and Liam's favorite!

Petting the giraffes!

Not the best pic, but isn't his birthday shirt the cutest? I ordered it from this Etsy shop.

Watching the Cheetahs eat and do tricks.

Back to the giraffes. We seriously spent like half our day waving at the giraffes. Will counted ten giraffes and they were so friendly!

Happy boy!

Checking out the chimps.

Liam didn't even notice the mama and baby chimp, and she is staring right at him!

They had fun statues all over the place for kids to climb on.

We had to stop and see the penguins again before we left that part of the zoo.

We had a picnic lunch before heading to the other side of the zoo where Liam promptly passed out for about an hour.

Liam missed out on the reptiles....
(yes, that snake is in the process of shedding his skin...cool but creepy!)

...and the kangaroos, emus, and koalas...

...and some more monkeys.

He woke up just in time for the Children's Zoo! Next time we will bring his swimsuit because there was a little splash area there for the kids to run around in.

Practicing walking!

We had to make ONE more stop by the Giants of the Savannah exhibit before we left. We had planned on taking a train ride all around the zoo, but decided against it once we got there. Instead, we fed the giraffes!

Liam wouldn't feed them, but he enjoyed seeing them up close again.

Slightly obsessed.

On our way home we stopped for Sprinkles birthday cupcakes!

We had more success with birthday cupcakes than we did with the birthday cake this time! We lit the candle and were able to get through the entire birthday song before Liam I blew it out! And he actually ate a majority of the cupcake too.

Sweet Birthday Boy!

Success!

We had such a fun day, and I'm so thankful Will was able to take off work and we could spend this very important day all together! I still can't believe my baby is ONE!
