Bahamas - Saturday & Sunday

Saturday we started the day at the pool. Check out the dark clouds!

It started raining not long after we got there. Everyone just sat underneath their umbrellas until it passed. It only lasted about 20 minutes.

Sitting under the umbrella while it's raining obviously calls for a photo shoot! Liam did not love his sunglasses, but doesn't he look so relaxed?? :)

Saturday afternoon we went to The Dig which was like an underground aquarium. I love how Liam and the giant fish are just staring at each other!

Do these eels remind anyone else of The Little Mermaid? That's immediately what I thought of when I saw them.

Sunday we went to a different pool - I think there were like 11 total pools or something like that? Photo op on the way there.

This pool wasn't a kiddie pool so it was less crowded. Did I mention the resort really wasn't that crowded at all? I think September will be our vacation month until Liam starts school.

That afternoon we decided to try the beach again.

(You may be noticing the wardrobe changes every afternoon. Wet swimsuits and AC do not mix well, so we would change whenever we would go back to the room. Plus Liam would need a new swim diaper and a new coat of suntan lotion anyway so it was just easier.)

Still not a fan of the sand. It was so soft though!

But really once he was out in the water he loved every second of it.

And yes I took my camera out into the ocean. No fear. That's what insurance is for.

This picture is just whatever, but I thought Liam's outfit was cute. We just got a salad and pizza this night and went back to our room to relax so we didn't take many pictures. But it was one of my favorite meals of the entire trip. They had Coke Zero in a can! You know I took one back to the room with me :)

Bahamas - Thursday & Friday

We left early Thursday morning for vaca! We actually spent the night at my parents' house Wednesday night because they live closer to the airport.

I was a little anxious about the plane rides (we had two flights each way) because we had to wake Liam up much earlier than normal and I didn't know what kind of mood he was going to be in, but he did great! He slept 90% of the way each flight and either ate, played, or flirted with the other passengers the rest of the time. He had a couple fussy spells, but no meltdowns and they didn't last long. Phew!

Once we got there we just walked around the resort and tried to get a lay of the land - it's huge! We tried to get some pictures, but Liam wasn't really interested in smiling for the camera. He was much more interested in the huge buildings and fish and waterfalls!

We stayed in the Royal Towers and we were on the left somewhere behind the palm trees :)

On our way to dinner we decided to splurge and buy ourselves a yacht! Oh wait, I'm afraid of the open ocean. And they cost about a billion dollars. So maybe we just admired it :)

Friday morning we headed to the beach! Little Man was out before we even touched the sand so Will and I got to relax and lay out while he napped.

These pictures are hilarious...this is Liam's first time experiencing the ocean and he was NOT pleased about the waves.

"Ok so the sand's not too terrible, but I'm not the biggest fan."

"Wait, what's that? It's headed right for me!"

Cue the deer in headlights "What the heck is happening?!" face!

"That's it! Get me out of here stat!"

So day one at the beach was kind of a bust. Liam preferred to sit up high on Daddy's lap where he didn't have to touch the sand and the water couldn't reach him. We didn't even bother actually taking him into the water that day. Baby steps...

After lunch and a cool down in the room we headed to one of the kiddie pools.

Will and I joked a lot during this trip about how different our vacations will be from here on out. It was still tons of fun...just very different. We spent as much time in the room as we did on the beach/at the pools to make sure Liam didn't get overheated and to let him nap, eat, play, etc. Long gone are the vacations where you just grab a book and lounge in your beach chair all day, ha!

This picture cracks me up! Liam had just woken up and was slightly ticked there was a camera in his face.

But then he was okay with it!

While Will and I were showering and getting ready for dinner, Liam practiced sitting up. He's getting really close I think!

After dinner every night we just went back up to the room and hung out. We tried to keep Liam on his normal schedule as best we could so he still went down between 7 and 8 every night. Since we were sharing a room the only thing we could do was put our headphones on and watch movies in bed on the DVD player. Party animals over here!
