Halloween 2013 was definitely one for the books! Liam really "got it" this year and had a blast going door to door for the first time. We figured we would just take him to a few neighbors on our street, but he loved it so much that we ended up staying out for an hour! The four of us did part of our street together, and then Will headed home to hand out candy. We live on a high traffic street and didn't want to be the scrooges with our lights out for long. After Liam, Liesl, and I trick-or-treated for awhile, we switched and Liesl and I didn't see the boys again until after dark!
This is the only proof I have that Liesl was even present on Halloween night. First holiday FAIL. She pretty much slept in the stroller the whole time though but got plenty of compliments from passersby both as we walked around and while helping me pass out candy.
Liam was such a hoot to watch trick-or-treat! He would say trick-or-treat, get his candy, say his thank-you's, and then coming running down the drive yelling "I wanna go to another house!" And he kept trying to reach into the candy bucket even if the person already had their hand out to put candy in his pail, or he would notice their handful of candy but only pluck one piece out. It was too cute to watch! (I know I'm recounting every silly little detail, but it was seriously SO fun I don't want to forget anything!)
It got dark fast so I didn't take many pictures, but just imagine this huge smile plastered on his face for the next hour because that's what it was like. He was hilarious to watch and his excitement has made me even more excited about the rest of the holiday season if that's even possible!
Liam was a little hesitant to go up to some of the houses that were decorated with scary things and/or had adults in scary costumes. I assured him they weren't real, and ultimately the lure of more candy won him over and he went to every house that we came across. Everyone was really great about taking their masks off and talking to him too so that helped!
Once the boys made it back Liam sat down to dig through his loot and was thrilled to find fruit snacks! He was totally content skipping the candy and eating those instead. He did keep trying to go for the "gumballs" (aka Gobstoppers) so those were quickly hidden.
Liam loves handing out candy too and got in on that action for a bit before we officially closed our door and turned off the lights on another Halloween!
But before we headed out for trick-or-treating Amanda and "Rella" came by for some pictures!
I can't believe this is our THIRD Halloween as mama's!

The next morning we rode with Will to work and you better believe I played Christmas music the whole time!
