Halloween 2013!

Halloween 2013 was definitely one for the books! Liam really "got it" this year and had a blast going door to door for the first time. We figured we would just take him to a few neighbors on our street, but he loved it so much that we ended up staying out for an hour! The four of us did part of our street together, and then Will headed home to hand out candy. We live on a high traffic street and didn't want to be the scrooges with our lights out for long. After Liam, Liesl, and I trick-or-treated for awhile, we switched and Liesl and I didn't see the boys again until after dark!

This is the only proof I have that Liesl was even present on Halloween night. First holiday FAIL. She pretty much slept in the stroller the whole time though but got plenty of compliments from passersby both as we walked around and while helping me pass out candy.

Liam was such a hoot to watch trick-or-treat! He would say trick-or-treat, get his candy, say his thank-you's, and then coming running down the drive yelling "I wanna go to another house!" And he kept trying to reach into the candy bucket even if the person already had their hand out to put candy in his pail, or he would notice their handful of candy but only pluck one piece out. It was too cute to watch! (I know I'm recounting every silly little detail, but it was seriously SO fun I don't want to forget anything!)

It got dark fast so I didn't take many pictures, but just imagine this huge smile plastered on his face for the next hour because that's what it was like. He was hilarious to watch and his excitement has made me even more excited about the rest of the holiday season if that's even possible!

Liam was a little hesitant to go up to some of the houses that were decorated with scary things and/or had adults in scary costumes. I assured him they weren't real, and ultimately the lure of more candy won him over and he went to every house that we came across. Everyone was really great about taking their masks off and talking to him too so that helped!

Once the boys made it back Liam sat down to dig through his loot and was thrilled to find fruit snacks! He was totally content skipping the candy and eating those instead. He did keep trying to go for the "gumballs" (aka Gobstoppers) so those were quickly hidden.

Liam loves handing out candy too and got in on that action for a bit before we officially closed our door and turned off the lights on another Halloween!

But before we headed out for trick-or-treating Amanda and "Rella" came by for some pictures!

I can't believe this is our THIRD Halloween as mama's!

The next morning we rode with Will to work and you better believe I played Christmas music the whole time!

My Little Punkins!

Last Friday, we took the kids to a pumpkin patch. It's near my parent's house so my mom came with. It's probably my favorite one in the area because it has a lot of cute areas for pictures and admission is free!

We tried for approximately 30 seconds to get a picture of them together and then gave up. Maybe next year!

My sweet little pumpkins!

Saturday we took the kids trick-or-treating at our town square. I had a little photo sesh with Liesl in her costume before we left. Is she not the cutest dalmatian you've ever seen!?

And there's one handsome firefighter!

We practiced the day before and Liam got really good at saying trick-or-treat and thank you, but of course once we got there he got super shy and would barely whisper it. It's okay though because his smile said it all! Both kiddos got lots of compliments, and one store owner even asked to take Liam's picture because her son just became a firefighter, ha!

Liam was so excited about his balloon. I asked him to show it to me and smile but he wouldn't move it out from in front of his face - can you see his giant smile behind it??!

We busted out the matching skeleton pi's later that night!

Sunday Liam painted the pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch. He asked for a trash truck on one side and a fire truck on the other. Then he promptly painted over them.

I told him Liesl wanted a pink pumpkin, and he spent so long making sure the whole pumpkin was painted pink. It was sweet!

Sister wasn't too impressed with hanging out in the driveway while we painted, haha.

Finished products!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Liesl's Nursery!

Finally! I'm only 6 weeks late in sharing Liesl's nursery, but considering she hasn't actually slept in her room yet, I figured I'm still good. The lighting in her room is terrible which makes the color a little funky in these pictures, but you get the idea. So if you're wondering about the color of something - it's most likely a shade of pink :)

Welcome!

Cute little pumpkins left over from Liesl's sip-n-see!

This wall is about to get a major overhaul after I order some newborn prints/canvases!
