Elias {10 months}

Elias Grey, you are 10 months old!!

What have you been up to???

You are probably close to 18lbs, wearing 6-12 month clothing, size three diapers, and size 2 shoes!

Sleep is great but is a lot more fluid now that we are on summer time. You still take a three hour nap during the day and are successfully only taking one nap a day.  Bedtime has gotten later but you will sleep in until 8 or 9, which is awesome, so you make up for the late nights! One thing I've come into this month is you standing up in your crib! You do not know how to sit yourself back down yet and you were quite unhappy. It hasn't happened since. :) You are still the happiest little baby when you wake up! You smile so big and give the best hugs when I pick you up! It is two of my most favorite times of the day! 

You eat three meals a day, a combo of baby food and finger food. Nursing is still going well first thing in the morning, but that's about it. Every other time has been a fight, so sadly, we are starting to wean. I am also going on a birthday trip with Daddy for my 31st (or super belated 30th) birthday, so it's time. I'm only going to be away from you for a couple of days, so I'm hanging on to our morning sessions as long as you'll let me. Kindergarten, tops. You take two bottles a day right now but we will be switching to three times by August. 

Since becoming such a busybody, you have started getting into things you shouldn't. We have had to take things away from you (both things that are not safe and things of your siblings that they don't want you to have) which causes quite the little outbursts from you! When you get upset, you almost always want me which calms you down pretty quickly (for now). 

We call you Elias Grey, 'Lias, Eli, Eli-Bear, Bubbi and Baby.

Liesl and Liam love to act silly to make you belly laugh. They love playing peekaboo with you and Liam has starting picking you up and spinning you around (supervised). You also love Pat-a-cake! 

Miletones:

This was a HUGE month for you! Lot of big baby milestones and family firsts! 

You started saying "MAMA!" The first time you said it was June 5th, in your bouncer, and you were unhappy and wanted out, so you whined for your mama. And I ran right over to rescue you! You've said it many times since then but it never gets old.

You learned how to go from lying down to sitting up and vice versa early on in the month.  

You started CRAWLING!!! You started with one and two crawls for about a week, and then on Wednesday, June 14th, you took 6 good crawls and it clicked. Thursday morning, June 15th, at VBS you crawled across the nursery room like you owned the place, and you haven't sat still since. You are so busy now; goodbye to that happy little content baby sitting on the floor. We cannot take our eyes off of you and you have already managed to get a few small bumps and bruises. 

The day after you started really crawling, you decided to pull up to standing (June 17th)! You'd also been practicing that for awhile and would make it up to your knees, but now you're pulling right up to standing on anything that will hold your weight.  

On June 21st, you clapped for the first time!! 

You went to your first wedding! Your Uncle Nate got married, and you made it through the ceremony but snoozed the rest of the night. 

You helped Daddy celebrate Father's Day for the first time! 

You attended VBS for the first time. You had plenty of attention and took great naps every afternoon, so I call that a successful week! 

You went to the BEACH! Technically our first day at the beach was the day you turned 10 months, but we started the drive the day before so it falls under both months, I guess. You also started cruising around the furniture during this week, on the 24th, but it's also technically a first for next month, I just don't want to forget it. :)

Out of all three kids, we can tell you are going to be the one to keep us most on our toes. We have to watch you like a hawk,  but keeping an eye on your cute face is not hard to do. We love you, Elias Grey!!!
