So did I tell you about that time I had to pee with my darling child on my lap because he wouldn't let me put him down for two seconds?

I didn't?

Well that was my day yesterday.

I'm pretending it's because we were apart for 6 whole hours on Saturday (the longest EVER!) so he was going through serious mommy-withdrawal...but I'm pretty sure it's just because he's a baby and sometimes they just do that. Silly babies :)

Anyways, I got zippo done yesterday. We have duffel bags and other junk items from our weekend screaming at me to put them away (especially since I had worked so hard to clean the house before we left) but they are still there today. Plus the laundry. Plus the dishes.

I would have liked to get it all done, but I didn't.

And that's okay.

Because somedays babies just need their mommies, and I am perfectly happy to snuggle on the couch/bed/floor/chair/toilet with my little man when he needs me.

He did let me lay him down on the bed for a while as long as I stayed within a foot or so of him. Which happens to be the perfect distance for a photo shoot. :)

Here come the photos...

Eggplant & Ivory

The wedding shower I helped host this weekend went beautifully. We kept it simple and elegant and all the decor revolved around the bride's main wedding color - eggplant. I think it turned out gorgeous and the bride was very pleased!

I ended up making only two paper flowers. They took me f-o-r-e-v-e-r. But they turned out cute so it was worth the two hours, haha.

Sangria blanc - YUM!
And even tastier through a fun straw :)

The favors - wedding themed cookie cutters with tags that had their names and said, "Perfectly cut for each other."

What Do...

cookie cutters, JFK, and passports all have in common?

They all describe my week!

The fam and I are headed to Houston this weekend for me to co-host a bridal shower, and I still have a million and one things to do to get ready for it. My mom's friend is visiting from out of town, and Liam and I are tagging along on a few fun touristy things. The little man is getting his passport this week and I'm working on all the paperwork, etc. Oh yeah, and I'm still doing the whole wife and mommy thing too :)

In short: I'm BUSY!

Will most likely be pretty absent this week and weekend. Unless I get my act together and actually get all the things I need to get done, done. But probably not.

Have a good week!

2 Great Things!

*1*

They're BACK!

So I went to CVS to pick up a prescription and then headed towards the other side of town to Chik-fil-a to get a peach shake. You better believe I drove all the way across town just for a peach shake. I ordered and went to grab my credit card but realized I had left it at CVS! After silently freaking out I decided to use my emergency credit card and explain to Will later that this was indeed an emergency. BUT when I pulled up the guy at the window started ringing his cowbell and said I was the 100th customer so my shake was FREE! WOOHOO! I'm never the person that gets free stuff so it pretty much made my day. And the peach shake tasted that much better because of it!

*2*

This little clown LAUGHED today for the first time! I was on speaker phone with my mom so we both heard it. Will was a little disappointed he missed it, but there will be many more to come I'm sure. He full-on laughed twice and has just done some small laughs since so I'm hoping Will will hear the next one soon! It was the cutest sound!

And I decided to add this picture I took last night because I just love it.

My two favorite boys snuggling :)

The Fourth Part 2

Sunday and Monday

This was Liam's 4th of July church outfit - I thought he looked so cute in his little bubble!

Toula seemed to like it too.

After church we ran some errands, took a nap, then got to cooking. We made little mini fruit pizzas to take to a party that night.

They were so easy and everyone seemed to enjoy them!

Our Sunday School teachers hosted a 4th of July party at their house Sunday night and it was really fun! A lot of people from our class and our old class (we split due to size) came so there were a ton of people and little ones running around.

Family picture

Liam was more interested in blowing spit bubbles than socializing...

Mallory, Liam, Katie, and Layla

We sat all the babies on the couch for a picture, and I thought they just looked so cute in their red, white, and blue! My poor guy is the minority.

My friend Amanda set her daughter Mallory next to Liam and she put her arm around his. We're pretty sure they know it's meant to be :)

A lot of the guys brought fireworks to shoot of course!

Liam missed out on the fireworks this year because I didn't want it to hurt his ears but next year hopefully he'll get to enjoy them.

Although I don't think he noticed because he tuckered out pretty early from all the partying.

On Monday we tried to get a few cute pictures with the flags that lined our street...

...but the little guy apparently wasn't feeling very patriotic.

We didn't have any plans for the actual 4th of July so we just spent the day at home. We went down to the pool (I got my first tan line, finally!) for the afternoon and Will grilled steaks and corn on the cob for dinner. My brother stopped by for a few seconds to drop off Will's birthday gift. We ended the night playing ladder ball in the backyard with Liam.

Fourth Breakdown

Our 4th weekend involved celebrating America and the Hubs!

Part 1: Friday and Saturday

I was going to do a Week in the Life post for Friday, but it's now Tuesday and I haven't done it yet so I think it's safe to say it's not going to happen...

So Friday we went to my mom's for the day and the first thing we did was hit up a garage sale. She's looking for a swing for her house and I was looking for a jumperoo thing. Instead I found the BEST thing I have ever found at a garage sale! I was seriously talking about it all day!

$3 for this adorable little schoolhouse chair!
I'm already planning on using it for Liam's one year pictures. I'm picturing him sitting on it in a field with some birthday balloons tied to it.

My mom treated me, Will, and Liam to a birthday lunch for Will at Brio. She also got him gift cards to some of our favorite restaurants and Cabela's.

My mom took some family pictures of us because we don't have very many. Squinty eyes = not attractive and Liam was completely knocked out, but that's life!

After lunch my mom, Liam, and I ran some more errands and then my grandparents came to see Liam. They always seem to come right when he's either hungry or tired so he gets fussy, but we got some smiles out of him this time!

Liam with his great-grandma!

My mom and I made Liam's 4th of July outfit too - it was SO cute and so easy! We just ironed on the tie and the ribbon suspenders, and then sewed on the buttons. I sewed the one on the right - my first time sewing a button! Isn't that pathetic?? At least I can say I've done it now...

We didn't get home until late because of traffic, so I fed Liam, we ate a late dinner, and then we all crashed.

Saturday was Will's birthday! He turned the big 2-7!

Notice the camo onesie? Yeah, I let his Daddy dress him...

He wasn't very excited about entering his "late" twenties so we didn't do anything big. Liam slept in until 7 so that was a nice birthday gift. We did cards and presents in bed and then slowly got ready for the day. We drove out to the new Cabela's (hence the gift card from my mom) and had lunch at Rudy's. Rudy's is a BBQ place we used to go to in Waco when we went to Baylor and they just opened up this new location - as in the day we went was the first day!

Will got a new Columbia shirt and a 30 foot leash for Rowdy so he can take him to the pond to swim. After that we went to the outlet mall and did some damage at the J. Crew outlet :)

That night we had dinner with Will's family and they came back to our house for cake and presents. I spent all afternoon making Will's coconut birthday cake and thankfully it turned out SO good! It was my first time making it and I was nervous about how it was going to taste - O.M.Gee. it was delicious! It tasted just like the coconut cupcakes from Sprinkles Cupcakes which happen to be my favorite. Everyone loved it especially the birthday boy which is what matters most!

Poor Liam is literally drooling over the cake, but he can't have any just yet :)

Happy Birthday Hubby!

Happy 4th!

Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL fourth!
