Weekend-ness.

We had a fun weekend over here!

{Friday} night we had a family date-night after dinner to Target and PurpleBerry (frozen yogurt). My new favorite combination is strawberry with strawberries, blueberries, and gummy worms. I would have taken a picture but it was gone in about 3 minutes.

{Saturday} we went trekked out to our nearest IKEA for some furniture shopping!

We spent over 2 hours there and the little man did great in his Baby Bjorn the whole time. We didn't end up getting any of the color combos I mentioned earlier, but I'm really excited about what we did pick out!

Apparently Baby Bjorn's taste good???

IKEA snooze.

We got a new couch, an oversized chair, and a rug. They won't be delivered until Thursday and we already donated our old couches and rug so our living room currently looks like this...

We feel like a couple college kids again, ha! We did put the rug down after I took this, but we'll still be furniture-less for a few more days.

After IKEA we picked up some dinner at Central Market and came home. We watched Something Borrowed after Liam went to sleep and ate about a million snickerdoodles. Our kitchen smelled GOOD!

Oh, and Liam ate FOOD for the first time! I'll be doing a separate post on that though because I took way too many pictures, but I will say that he LOVED it!

{Sunday} we went to church, had lunch with Will's parents, took our couches to Helping Hands, and ran our usual Sunday errands.

I had to take a picture of Liam in his church outfit because I have been waiting forever to put him in these overalls! They are 0-3 month, but they must run big because he's just now starting to fill them out at nearly 5 months old! I think they are so adorable!

Sunday night we watched the Cowboys lose (boo) and just hung around the house.

{Monday} still feels like the weekend for us right now because Will is home for the day. He had jury duty that took all of 1 hour and then the case was settled so he got to leave! We ran some errands around town this morning and grabbed lunch.

Will put a scrooge hat on Liam at Hobby Lobby. He doesn't look very scroogey to me :)

Liam trying to steal Daddy's tea.

"While Daddy is kissing me, I'm going to try and nose dive for his food!" (always plotting.)

This kid is really into food at the moment.

Liam also practiced sitting up. He's getting too big for his britches!
Oh, and there's a sneak peak of our rug :)

Now Liam is napping and we're about to tackle my photos. We bought an external hard drive this weekend for all my photos because I have about 20,000 images on my computer right now and I would be DEVASTATED if I lost them! I know it's terrible, but I haven't backed up a thing since before Liam was born. I'm a risk- taker...NOT. I've just been slacking, but they're important so we're going to sit down and do it right NOW!

TGIF!

This week has been full of...

Chilling in our crib.

Sitting like a big boy!

Snoozing.

Some pouting and fussing.

Photo shoots (duh.)

Jumping. (Well, twirling mostly.)

Eating!

Watching movies. (The Blind Side. I'm SO ready for football season!)

Goofy faces.

And smiling!

(Oh, and I did some cooking, cleaning, and laundry in there somewhere.)

Hoping for more of the same this weekend!

Wednesday Love!

What I Love Wednesday!
Hosted by Jamie

{One}

I'm loving the new Baylor Bookstore catalog we got in the mail yesterday. And now I want...
This onesie for Liam for homecoming!
I think it will go great with his striped legs he already has :)

This t-shirt for Liam - adorable!

Will and I both want these boots. I don't ever wear cowboy boots, but if I were to ever wear them I would want it to be these. Plus I'm pretty sure I'm the only Texan I know that doesn't own a pair of real cowboy boots and that's just not right.

{Two}

I'm loving the movie The Help! Of course the book was better as I expected it would be, but I still really enjoyed it. I saw it with my mom (and Liam - he did great!) last week, and I'm going to see it again tomorrow night with my sunday school girls!

{Three}

I'm loving that I finally bought the egg dish I've been eyeing from Anthropologie for about a year now! I'm not sure what took me so long because it's not even expensive - maybe I just kept getting distracted by the clothes :)

{Four}

I'm loving that stores already have Fall stuff out AND I've even seen some Christmas items. Now normally this would annoy me to no end, but I'm just so stinking excited about the holidays this year that I don't even care!

{Five}

I of course love this little man!

{Six}

And this big man!

Happy Wednesday!

Just ORB it!

I recently got inspired by Katie @ BowerPower to get my ORB on!

ORB = Oil Rubbed Bronze.

I love the look of oil rubbed bronze and would love to replace all of our silver light fixtures, door handles, faucets with fancier ORB versions, but that can get pricey.

Enter ORB spray paint.

For under $8, you can revamp almost anything!

I first attacked our outdoor light fixture. It's one of the first things you notice when you drive up and it.was.fugly.

(Ignore the bowling ball baby under my shirt and notice the light at the top left.)

And...

I think it matches the facade of the house much better now and looks more expensive for practically nothing! And it was so easy that I had planned on doing a step-by-step how to, but I didn't have enough steps! Will was able to take the glass out of the fixture so we didn't even have to tape it. We just applied two coats about an hour apart, let it sit a few more hours, and it was ready.

Next on my list of items getting ORBed...

Goodbye silver hooks!

Summer Wrap-Up.

This summer has seriously flown by. But I can't say I'm all that sad about it.

It has been so.unbelievably.hot. here that we spend most of our days cooped up inside or going as quickly as we can from one air-conditioned location to the next.

Plus I have been really looking forward to Fall. For the first time in forever Fall isn't synonymous with school or work or schedules or meetings or homework. Fall now means walks around the neighborhood, MOPS activities, and taking Liam to his first pumpkin patch.

I will admit that it felt a little strange not going back for teacher inservice last week. Knowing all my friends were at school visiting and catching up after the break made me miss them a lot. And I definitely miss the fun of decorating my classroom and setting all my back-to-school books out to read to the kids. But I will not miss all the work that comes after the initial high of the new school year wears off. And it wears off pretty quickly. :)

Anyway.

I have been a blogging slacker this summer and it's time to get back in the swing of things. I could blame it on the baby, but really it's been all me. Not that you're all dying to hear about our days spent snuggling on the couch watching Sprout or playing on the floor while I coax Liam to roll over with his favorite elephant toy, but I want to remember those days too.

In an effort to catch back up, here's a slew of random photos I never got around to posting.

Bath time has become so exciting!

Sometimes SO exciting that we just wear ourselves right out!

Someone enjoys looking at himself in the mirror.

Seriously....he is so vain. :)

Liam went to root on his Grandpa at a car show and got to sit in his sweet ride!

But it was so hot out that he was over it pretty quick.

My new background on my phone. I love that sweet smile.

Liam's new habit - sticking his fist under my shirt sleeve and sucking on it. Weirdo.

Farmer's Market - best.peaches.evah.

Liam rockin the Baby Bjorn facing out!

Chewing on our bath towels...another new habit. Have I mentioned he's into chewing?

Mullet + mohawk + random bald spots = Liam's current trainwreck hairstyle. A trip to the barber may be in his near future. Although I've been saying that for over a month now.

Play dates galore! This is Liam hanging out with the Max's at our local library.

Poolside play date with Miss Mallory.

And a pizza play date with Mallory and Karlyn!

We also got together with my friend Amy from high school and her little boy, Benjamin, but I didn't take any pictures!

Mama and baby sitting on the back porch while Daddy grills steaks. Great summer night.

I forgot to show off the birthday cake Will made me! That is homemade strawberry frosting folks.

I ordered Liam some babylegs. Don't tell me they're girly because I don't want to hear it (I get it enough from Will!). I love them and they make me want to pinch his little thighs every time I put them on!

Taking a summer snooze after some pool time at Yaya's house.

Family picture before Will and I went out on a dinner date. And before I noticed the big milk stain on my shirt.

Outfit #2 and family picture redo!

I've been experimenting with the manual settings on my camera and had the ISO up WAY high one day. I ended up with some crazy ghost baby photos.

How does he still manage to look cute so pale? He doesn't get it from me that's for sure.

Our first walk in over a month! Also the first time in over a month it hasn't been 100+ degrees.

Ok, that's enough. I will be back more regularly though!
