ABC's & A Sweet Deal!
I just ordered this adorable personalized alphabet book for Liam's first birthday!
Every letter stands for something Liam does or likes or has liked during his first year. I used real pictures of him and his toys so he can look back and remember some of his favorite things!
The best part?
The entire hardback book only cost me $9.14!
The blog HowDoesShe has teamed up with Paper Coterie, and on her blog she has a $30 promotion that can be applied to anything on Paper Coterie's website! I used it to make this ABC book which was $30, so I only payed shipping and handling = $9.14!
HURRY though because the promotion expires February 17th!

Remember that time Liam ate dog food???
I can't believe I forgot to document this moment! Shame on me.
One of our dogs, Toula, is very high maintenance and is scared of the bottom of her food bowl, so we pour her food out on the floor next to her food bowl. I know, we are such nice parents, and she is a spazz.
So Monday night the three of us are hanging out in the kitchen which also happens to be where Toula eats. Will is preparing chicken for dinner, and I am "assisting." Also known as standing next to him watching Gossip Girl. (And neither of us happen to be paying close attention to where Liam is.) All of a sudden Will notices Liam hanging out next to Toula, goes to grab him off the floor, and comes walking back to me with a baby who is smiling ear to ear and drooling.
We weren't positive he got anything, but I shove my finger in his mouth and sure enough I fish out a piece of Toula's dog food! My kid just ate DOG FOOD! I am grossed out, Will is laughing hysterically, and Liam is MAD that I took it from him! I take him to the sink to rinse his mouth out and then set him back on the floor. He immediately starts heading right back for her food, so I scoop him up again and just hold him until Toula is finished. G-R-O-S-S!!!
So that's my story. It could have been worse I suppose. Liam could have actually swallowed it. Or it could have been dog poo instead of dog food. (My dogs don't poo in the house, but you know what I mean.) Now I have started timing Liam's dinner time with the dogs so he is up in his highchair while Toula eats. Gone are the days of my chill baby who never gets into trouble I guess :)
My baby sure does love his dogs...almost as much as their food.

WILW!
WILW with Jamie!
I love wagon rides through the house when it's too cold to go outside!
I love watching Liam listen to the teacher and play with his buddies at Baby Bounce!
I love how great Liam slept last night! He did wake up once around 4, but put himself back to sleep after just a few minutes! Hallelujah!
Liam passed out on me in the funniest position yesterday while we were relaxing on the couch. Silly boy!
Happy Wednesday!

Monday Stuff.
Linking up with Carissa!
Thank you for all the encouragement and advice from my last post. Things are still rough in the sleep department, but hopefully we'll turn a corner soon!
This weekend was just about as low-key as it gets. Except for church, a superbowl party, and grocery shopping, we basically didn't leave the house. We didn't go out to eat, we didn't run errands, and Will played with Liam a lot so I could get stuff done.
Playing!
Liam has turned into a crawling and climbing machine this past week! He can pull up on anything and can now cruise from furniture to furniture. He'll even walk with his walker over to a piece of furniture to grab onto it. Usually it's the couch and usually because there's a dog snoozing on it he wants to mess with :)
"Helping" Daddy with the dishes!
Speaking of Liam and dogs - now that he's mobile I think they finally realize he's "alive" haha. Toula is our feisty one and here she is trying to get him to play. He thinks she is just hilarious!
I worked on a lot of birthday stuff this weekend and finalized Liam's birthday invitation. I'm having so much fun putting together everything! I was originally just going to buy pre-made stuff from Etsy, but I really enjoy doing it myself.
The current state of my dining room table:
We had a lot of fun at our sunday school class Super Bowl party last night. Neither Will nor I could have cared less about either team playing, so we basically went for the food and social aspect of the evening. I stayed downstairs with the babies and ladies while Will stayed upstairs with the men and the pool table. We brought veggie pizza (which is not nearly as healthy as it sounds but soo delicious) and rice crispy treats. I had been craving rice crispy treats for like a month now, so I was happy to finally have an excuse to make some!
These images were both taken from Google, but you get the idea.
Super Bowl babies!

And I really have no words for this last picture except to say that Liam has learned how to open the puffs container...
Happy Monday!

Liam has not slept through the night once this week. For someone who's been sleeping through the night since he was 5 weeks old, this is pretty different. I credit this mostly to his newfound curiosity and ability to stand up in his crib now (no longer afraid, dang it.)
I know a lot of moms with babies who are still waking up every night will want to punch me in the face for saying this but - I am loving every minute of it. Probably because I know it's just temporary, and probably because the exhaustion hasn't fully hit me yet. It's funny how easily you forget what lack of sleep can do to you once your baby starts sleeping all night.
Anyway, the other reason for the nightly wake up calls is that Liam's appetite has gone way down during the day and I have no idea why. If anyone has any advice or experience with this, let me know! He isn't finishing his meals and it will take me usually an hour or two to get him to finish a bottle. And that's with me filling them up less.
So every night between 4 and 5 he wakes up hungry. And I will go in there with a bottle or nurse him for a little bit and then rock him until he's asleep. Last night he woke up twice. The first time he didn't want to eat. He just wanted to be rocked. That's something new too. I used to rock him when he was an infant, but for the past few months I could just lay him down and he would put himself to sleep. Now he stands up and screams if I don't rock him first.
Now I like a good schedule as much as the next mom does, so this threw me off at first. But as much as I may moan and groan when I hear his cries come through the monitor, I always come back to bed smiling and my heart is full. I remember loving that sweet time when he would curl up on my chest as a newborn and sleep for hours. Then he got bigger and busier and it slowly dissapeared.
Maybe he knows I'm quietly mourning the loss of my little baby as he gets closer to turning one, and he's giving me one last sweet taste. Thank you for that, baby. Just don't make this a permanent thing, k?

I never thought those jeans would actually fit...

Up To
What we've been up to lately...
Liam has been working on his crawling! I am surprised at how mobile he's getting so quickly. And of course his absolute favorite thing to crawl towards - cords. Blah.
We have been wearing summer clothes in January. It was 70 degrees here yesterday, so I pulled out an old romper Liam never got to wear much before he grows out of it. And I got to rock a maxi dress. Sooo ready for summer!
Liam napping during a walk while wearing our summer clothes in January. That's a crazy sentence to type!
Last week I met my mom to do some fabric shopping for Liam's birthday party. Who doesn't love looking at rows and rows of pretty fabric?
We walked away with these guys...
Last Friday my best friend from high school, Katrina, got married! I was honored to be a bridesmaid, but I didn't get many pictures because I was a little busy. I don't even have one of the bride and groom!
The Bride, family pic, her gorgeous cake, and some of the decor (I loved all the trees!)
I don't know why, but apparently some flip was switched when Liam turned 10 months and naps are no longer a priority to him. He only napped for 20 minutes in his crib yesterday, boo. I was finally able to get him to take a good hour and half long nap later on, but it was lying on top of me on the couch. I may not have got anything productive done, but I did get to stare at that sweet face so I'll take it :)
And he's currently been napping for 45 minutes as I type this so we'll see how long it lasts!
Mr. Cool at Target.
I just had to add this picture because I love it. And because we go to Target a lot.
