At The Hop!

On Saturday, Liesl had her much anticipated date with her Daddy. She's been watching me plan it for weeks now and has been so, so eager for the day to finally come! Our church hosts a Daddy/Daughter Date Night that I help coordinate. I was in charge of decorations, and I think everything came together so cute! We did a "Sock Hop" theme this year and everyone, even the dads, really got into the theme. Lucky for me, the coordinators have to be there to run the show, so we always get to see the cuteness in person!

She had to test the twirl factor, of course.

Daddy picking her up!

Our budget isn't huge, but I think we made the most of it! We had right at 100 people sign up, so most of our budget went towards the tables/centerpieces and the photo backdrop.

We served diner style fare of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and make-it-yourself ice cream sundaes.

Just a couple of ten feet tall milkshakes, no big deal!

We had help with the lighting and were able to set the mood with some fun pink and purple lights.

We also had help from some of the sweet youth girls who all dressed the part as well!

After dinner, we had stations set up for the guests to rotate around to. We had hula-hoops, hopscotch, bubble gum blowing, limbo, and a hand jive lesson. Once they completed all the stations, they turned their sheet in for a chance to win one of the 9 giveaways we had donated.

We ended the evening by having all the dads line up in two lines, and the girls took a "stroll" down the middle. They twirled, they twisted (some ran, haha), and some showed off their hand jive skills. The whole night was so sweet to watch and SUCH a success! We can't wait until next year "at the hop!"
