On Saturday we took Liam to his first of many Baylor Homecomings!
Since it's less than a 2 hour drive, we decided to just make a day out of it. SO much easier than packing for a weekend away with a little one. We had the BEST time! We loved taking him all over campus, and introducing him to some of our friends!
I took 288 photos in less than 10 hours. These are just my top faves.
Let the picture overload begin...
Our first stop was the parade. It was in the 40's and absolutely freezing! That combined with the insane crowd and loud cheering/music/chanting/etc., Liam didn't really know what to think. We didn't get too many smiles out of him during it to say the least.
We did see some friends though. We ran into Maggie and met Baird! We also saw my big, Courtney, and her sweet little boy Wyatt!
We also met up with the Powells! Miss Georgia pretty much felt the same way about the whole parade situation as Liam did, so they weren't exactly thrilled to add posing for pictures to the mix. They were troopers though, and hopefully we'll get better pictures next time!
We walked around campus for a bit and took some pictures until lunch time. We also popped into the bookstore and bought some new decals for our cars, a polo and book for Liam, a pendant for Will and some BU Nike shorts for me.
One of the many reasons I love Baylor is that we never had to ask anyone to take a family picture! I was hoping to just get one good picture of the three of us, and we ended up with a ton because people kept offering to snap some. Baylor is the best :)
Then we went and had lunch at Vitek's BBQ with pretty much everyone else on campus. We stood in line outside for 40 minutes! Thankfully, Liam was wonderful especially considering his morning "nap" lasted all of 15 minutes. I have to brag on him because he was so amazing the whole day, and it was a loooong day!
After lunch we went back to campus to walk around and take some more pictures. It had cleared out a lot, so we were able to casually stroll around and get pictures at some spots that had been too packed earlier.
Our last stop was to the stadium for tailgating! I didn't get many pictures, but we met up with some of Will's fraternity brothers to introduce them to Liam and catch up. I mentioned a few weeks back that one of Will's fraternity brothers was killed in a car accident just a few weeks ago, so a lot of the guys who hadn't been back in a while decided to all come this year and reconnect. It was a lot of fun to see people we hadn't seen in years!
Ok, our real last stop was at Food For Thought which was one of my favorite places to eat in Waco. It was too early for dinner, but we got food to go and ate it during ourdrive home. It was just as good as I remembered :)
Liam was wiped out and slept the entire drive home. Unfortunately, by the time we got home it was his bedtime, but he was wide awake from his long nap! Since he was in his stroller or our arms most of the day anyways, we kept him up extra late to let him play. He stayed up with us until 10 o'clock. Party animal! It actually worked in our favor because of the time change, phew!
Thanks for the great memories Baylor, we'll see you next year!
